yeah, they didn't waste as much real-estate on the ThunderBolt as they did on the EVO and Incredible,

I honestly prefer the design of the ThunderBolt over the Inspire 4G because of how the back looks on both (plus the big speaker and kickstand )

didn't really think about a whole glass screen protector.

I had a anti-glare screen protector on the Droid X, it made it look "weird" almost cloudy, the screen was gorgeous without it though, and with all the screen protectors i've tried, they make you lose touch responsiveness.

I like the matte Anti-glare screen protectors. I bought mine from: here I had the same one on my Incredible and I loved the feel of it. Plus there's no fingerprints. I know the screen itself is scratch resistant but it gives me extra comfort to know my screen is protected.

So, My poor eris has gone nuts. Had to do a factory reset. Battery isn't lasting 8 full hours before its below 10% and begging for a charge. I can't answer a phone call AT ALL (isn't that what a "phone" is for?). Now, screen presses are not recognized for a full 2 minutes so after i give up and put it down, then it makes the actual call.
I'm just so frustrated with the dang thing. I thought i could baby it thru for the TB. But i have all but given up hope on it. And it has ricocheted off of the wall/floor at least 4 times in two days when my kids were calling and i couldn't answer. It is beyond annoying. I have spent so much time trying to get it to last "one more week" that i don't think i'll be able to wait much longer on the TB.

The screen looked fine for me.

I was the opposite! I had IS first and hated it. My finger kept getting stuck when trying to glide it across the screen. It's all personal preference.

I have greasy fingers all the time too. Which cover did you have for your Droid X that didn't smudge or leave prints?

the one Verizon sells, the Anti-Glare screen protector, don't remember the brand but i do know it was branded for "DROID"

but it had too much of a matte look to it that made the screen look cloudy with a frosted look, i mean it looked cool but the detail of the screen content was taken away because of that, but it did great at preventing smudges and grease/oil from my fingers.

Yeah, I don't want to take away from the screen quality so I will probably just get an IS and deal with the smudges. Stupid greasy fingers...
