my verizon store already put the charge of the phone on my account . she said all i have to do is walk in and walk out. WOOT Im all excited , and the phone is not even for me . It is for my wife.

Are you saying the cost of the phone charged on your monthly bill?

Updates for the most part are over the air.

For android Firmware? Simply goto into your settings menu then goto system updates and update?

For Apps? normally when you enter the the android market.
There will be a message to update if any of your current apps
have an update available. And again it is a simple touch of the
screen to agree to update and then to download and install.

It is a breeze!

has anyone been able to find a verizon corporate store confirming the release on Thursday? So far no luck on my end.

I don't know where you are in NY but I called the VZW store in the Bay Terrace Shopping Center in Bayside, Queens and they said Thursday the 17th.

Forget BJ's and PC Richard etc. They get small shipments of phones and even though they're still a "corporate" store, I personally find them to be not 100% with their knowledge/info. This is based on many different experiences I've had with the LG Voyager until the OG Droid. I told them to check and they'll have an email from corporate and they said they didn't know anything.

I pre-ordered my TB from my BBM in Tampa weeks ago...Back when they said pre-orders were closing on Feb 16th (Maybe they meant March 16th???). I haven't gotten any calls or emails, but I will call them first thing in the morning to ask them. It'd be nice if this date actually came true, but even with all the arrows finally pointing in one direction, I'm still having a hard time getting my hopes up.
I'm still really curious about data pricing and the TB's pricing. Can't Verizon just release their info and give us some peace of mind?

PS Every time my dad sees a TB commercial on TV he call's and says "Your phone was on TV! It must be coming out soon!" It's kinda hilarious.

ok so i dont really have anything extra to add for today but i wanted to share my brief story.

i went to bestbuy and quickly chatted with the guy there and he said they got a message a little earlier that they are good to go on the 17th. i even pretended that i didnt already know this. dude also said i could move my preorder from the store i originally ordered from to that one.

i then went to the one verizon corporate store here and the guy pretty much said the same thing. again i pretended that i had no idea about todays events. he said they wont be doing pre orders and wont be holding any for customers, unless his orders change between now and the 17th. i asked if i could add verizon insurance if i buy it from another location. he said they are having something like an "open insurance policy" (i think thats what he called it) so in theory i can buy from bestbuy and get the insurance from verizon.

both said they will have plenty in stock. for some reason i neglected to ask what amount constitutes "plenty".

That's how I've done my last two smartphones (just put it on my standard monthly VZW account). One time it was over $200 (I was told that was their normal max on one purchase) but they automacally just split it up and put it on two charges (each under $200) without me even asking.

I'm in Manhattan. Called the store on Madison and the one in Bryant Park- looking for corporate stores only. Thanks, maybe they will change their tune tomorrow

What great news! The 17th seems to be a go and it appears we were able to squeak out with unlimited data. Thanks for sabotaging the finance data to get us unlimited 4G, Ben!
