Hello everyone, I am new commenting on the forum but I've been reading every one of the 7000+ comment since the day when delays started to happen. Any ways, my question is something I haven't found clarified by any poster or tipster so PLEASE if Ben^5 is around us right now and reads this, could you please tell me what's the deal with it. My question is in regards of this quote:

"With the ThunderBolt by HTC, customers will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan and a 4G LTE data package. Nationwide Talk plans begin at $39.99 monthly access and an unlimited 4G LTE data plan start is $29.99 monthly access."

What does this mean exactly. Is it 29.99 for unlimited 4G data on top of the 29.99 for 3G data or a total 59.98 for data? or is it 29.99 data plan that includes 3G and 4G so monthly is only a total of 29.99 for data?

So please if anybody knows about this please let me know. I used to be a Verizon customer but moved to T-mobile (bad move) to get a Nexus S (great phone BTW). But after a week, the service was so awful that I had to go back to Verizon losing all my privileges and having to start as a new customer. Anyways, I've been eying this phone ever since I return to Verizon on Feb. 10. So this is the phone I've been holding for and the one I want to get so I can replace my RAZR. So please somebody clarify this for me. Thanks in advance.

its 29.99 for the data package that works on 3g/4g added to whatever voice/text plan you have.

For those wondering about skype and video calling that is still being finalized and should be avail within the coming weeks. They are close so expect it very soon... qik tech for video compression hicups are being ironed out to ensure the service is up to par with wired video calling solutions.

Wouldn't highlight the new network if video calling only worked on wifi.... would it Jobs? :)

Thank you Poet! This is great news...

.

Not overly thrilled about this. I'm using an older AC II plan where data is MOU(minutes of use)-based. Not an issue with a smartphone but if I ever needed to go back to my older feature phone I still would have liked the free N&W data use.

Got a question about the 4G LTE that hopefully someone can answer.

Do you need the unlimited 29.99 plan to get access to 4G LTE as well?

I currently am under the $15 150mb plan. Do I still get acess to LTE?

You can't get the phone unless you sign up for the 29.99 unlimited data, its required.

I thought that $29.99 was a requirement. Even if it's not for some reason I am not sure I would go anywhere near 150mb plan with the TB. That could get expense real fast.

LOL... good one... No email, but many calls when bill is due.. But I have paid ahead over last few months waiting for this. So no problem charging it to my account.

Ditto here. I wasn't sure if I was buying at Best Buy or Verizo, so I made sure my bill was paid ahead of time the last couple of months. Lol.

Where is this? I would just like to see it. And also is this true that we will have Mobile Hotspot available free for a month or do my eyes deceive me?

Mobile Hotspot allows users to connect up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices to the nation?s fastest wireless network via an application available on the ThunderBolt by HTC. Mobile Hotspot will be included through May 15 for no additional charge. Customers can track their data usage by downloading the My Verizon app available in Android Market or by logging on to their My Verizon accounts online at https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...w.verizon.com/b2c/myverizonlp/&token=CbvaUSBc.

They Tweeted the no pre-order thing. And yes, you're reading the official press release so I'd say that we get free hotspot until May 15th.

I'm already under verizon with that plan with the BB Storm. It was a short promo they were doing and I took advantage to decrease my data plan costs because I don't use that much data.

So anyone know? (being able to use the LTE network under the 150mb plan)

You won't be able to upgrade to thunderbolt without a 29.99 data plan. It is clear from the press release

If your VZW account is in good standing will we be able to bill the Bolt to your account?

$29.99 is for the DATA, Talk (using it as a phone) plans start at $39.99

I understood the Talk part (pretty obvious) and I only included it so the sentence could be complete. Anyways, so 29.99 for data includes 3G and 4G or it is 30 to have unlimited 3G plus another 30 to have 4G or total of 60 for 3G/4G. Thanks for your response.

As they have it worded for right now you will be required to have the NEW Unlimited 4G LTE data plan ($29.99) as of right now. So this will give you 3G & 4G access.

Most previous smart phones you just needed the 3G unlimited and with wording in the press release we know they seem to intent to possibly change pricing as they release more 4G products or it could simply be typo.
