Things Improved/Changed with GB

I have had the Inc2 since release. Love it.

So GB comes out for it, prior didn't have much issue with signal loss or Sense crashes. Since GB came, I've noticed a few things. When/if Sense crashes, and you have an alarm setup within Sense, the alarm will not go off. Also, if it's crashed, voice commands/voice to text doesn't work either. You'll be able to pull up the mic and talk but it will continuely show "Please speak louder". The signal is wacky, and way worse than before GB. I could sit in my apartment, 3rd floor and have a constant 2-3 bars. Now it's 2-1.. and sometimes 0.

Battery seems to be the only thing that hasn't taken a hit, for me anyways. Vzw doesn't claim they know of the signal issues, go figure. And their fix is using *228 which doesn't do anything and of course Factory reset.

Still love the phone, but wish the signal would get fixed, it does drain the battery when the phone shows 0 so..

Funny, my battery life stinks now with GB. Cell standby seems to be draining the battery nearly twice as much as before with stock Froyo.

Anybody else have this issue?

cell standby is when it's searching for signal. Like I said above, the signal seems weaker than what it was on Froyo. But if you're Cell Standby is high, try turning data off or switching to airplane mode when you're in low signal areas.

I shouldn't have to do that, though. I don't understand what would change in the hardware and signal strength in going from 2.2 to 2.3.

A 5% reduction in life is one thing, but I could get 65+ hours with a few calls and moderate use. Now, I'm less than 24 hours into a cycle with GB and I'm at 40% already with no calls and minimal use. That doesn't make sense!

Any options other than a factory reset? Would turning off the phone and doing a battery pull help?

Does anyone know why the "magic buttons" at the bottom only rotate when you turn the screen horizontally to the left?

Why no "to the right" love??

But seriously, I feel lucky because I have yet to experience any of the issues ppl are complaining about on here. Not one single documented issue. Even the OTA update process was seamless.

I emailed HTC Support as I was told to do this morning from their Twitter account. I haven't heard anything back about what the issues are with the signal since GB was released. When, If, I hear anything I'll report in.

when using any type of effect on the front facing camera its aim is a bit off
if you use distortion the focus point where everything is scrunched in is up and to the left of the circle
if you use vignette it is the same. make the circle smaller and the picture will black out part of the circle which is suppose to be what is viewable

Surprise, HTC claims they haven't heard of issues, VZW still claims a factory reset should fix it.. I'm not sure if I should wipe my device or not... But damnit, I could make 1 and half days on one charge. Now I have to charge every night and it's because the signal is crap!

i am in a very low signal area and i'm still getting good battery life. only got down to around 65% after 5 hours with no signal at all

Well I did have the alarm/clock problem....didn't want to do the factory reset but I ended up doing it and it fixed it. Just yesterday I saw once again its off. Have seen some people with the same issue so doing a factory reset is only a temporary solution.

Also.....if I'm on a call and I get a text, it used to make a sound, now it just vibrates in my ear.

Regarding the disappearing clock app problem...

Mysteriously enough, yesterday the Clock app reappeared in the app drawer and the clock widget started functioning again on my DINC2!

I had updated and installed a few apps yesterday which may have triggered a fix perhaps?

Updated the CNN app
Added GateGuru
Added Priority Pass

Don't know if this is now resolved permanently, something tells me it will only be temporary, but thought I would report this.
