Things you don't like about LGV10? :(

How I can't see the screen at all outside with the auto brightness setting

Posted via the Android Central App

Really? Just the opposite here. It's the first phone I've owned that will. Then again I've only used Auto-brightness on all of my phones...

I just shot some 60FPS, about 6:15 long video yesterday. I had it on Auto, 16:9, Steady-ON. I had HDR on too (if that really matters for video).

I use the manual settings. But still no means of recording 60fps past 5 minutes without it stopping. I even tried L, M, & H bandwidth, with no such luck.
30FPS? No big deal. Works like a charm. But what's the point if 60fps is right there in front of my face and I can't use it? I've no time for stringing together a couple of 5min videos. And the video camera's pause and resume function is super helpful. But I still need anywhere from 7-12 minutes (in rare cases 20min) of footage total.
Anyway I can revert back to the previous software? I had zero problems before my phone decided to update (without me knowing) one night.

If there's anything about the V10 I don't like, it's image retention. All smartphones using IPS LCD displays are subject to this at some point but my V10 has developed this in a matter of just 4 months, which is alarming since the G4 also has this problem too. Only fix so far is to either get the display fixed or get the entire phone exchanged which is a no-no for me.

Curious is this the same thing as "burn-in" on amloed displays?

I had this once too, I called it "burn-in" on another thread and someone corrected me saying that technically its not the same thing.

In my case, I had a line running across the screen coinciding with the edge of the Youtube video screen when rotated 90 degrees to portrait mode. Luckily the line went away after a couple days. Is yours permanent?

Image retention/persistence is simply a phenomenon when the pixels of a display tend to stay at the same position after viewing a still image, the severity dependent on how much time it takes for such to appear. The pixels doing so will display a ghosted image that looks like burn-in but is only temporary and relieved with leaving the display on with a pure white background for an amount of time or turning the display off for a bit though having the phone plugged into a charger in my case has retention appearing a bit sooner and the problem to disappear taking longer too. The real problem with retention is that it COULD lead to permanent retention which is rare but has the possibility to occur.

3,000 mAh is way too little for the increased drain on the battery, they should have made a battery several times larger in capacity. I personally run a ZeroLemon 9,000 mAh and it's just barely enough. I like my battery to cell to last one complete day without a recharge and you need in the neighborhood of 9,000 mAh to achieve that.

Battery usage is relative and there is no right answer. At the end of the day my battery is around 30%. How one uses the phone of course is the deciding factor. Games, videos, Web surfing, music, camera, GPS, etc. are the largest consumer of battery life. If these things are a big part of your day, your battery performance will suffer.
Also consider the size of the battery will have some influence on the size (and/or thickness) of the phone. I would not have purchase this phone if it was as thick and heavy as it is with a Zero Lemon battery attached to it.

Well, glad to see I'm not the only one who had this issue. When I first got the phone, it was used through Swappa. The screen had terrible image retention. So I purchased a new LCD/Digitizer and replaced it. It seemed to fix the issue, but after a while on the same screen I noticed the retention remained. Not nearly as bad as the first but it still was there. I had gotten into a fight with my ex a few weeks after and she threw my phone across the room, completely shattering the LCD. The digitizer was fine though funny enough. So I replaced it again and there's still a little retention. I accidentally dropped the phone at the pool a few weeks ago and it's slightly cracked now. It bugs me a lot so I do plan on replacing it once again once I get the money to afford the part. I would not be surprised in the least if this new screen showed the same issues.

For me..

1. The speaker is not great and unless its pointing towards you its kind of hard to hear.
2. Auto screen rotation is flaky at times, and doesn't always work immediately when you need it to.
3. Proximity sensor is also really sensitive, and even if just a little dirty, the screen may stay dark after a call unless is cleaned really good.

Yes this is why I won't ever buy an LG Phone ever again! They never gave an update for the Bluetooth problems. Many of my bluetooth devices pop and crackle when I connect them and try to play audio. Apparently this is a known problem and it may be a hardware issue. I went onto the LG website under forums and couldn't find anywhere I could post to complain about it.

T-Mobile won't do a thing - they want you to erase all bluetooth connections, which I did and it still pops and crackles! Plus, I have several devices and I'm not pairing them everytime I want to use them just because LG can't bother to update their software (if it's a software problem).

Note 7 here I come!

Hmm, I had a rooted T-Mobile V10 with an unlocked bootloader that I was using on AT&T and I never had a problem with Bluetooth. Audio streaming to my car radio with ID and to my headset was perfect as were the hundreds of file transfers I performed. I never received an OTA update. Bluetooth was definitely not the reason I moved on to the S7. Really the killer for me was the size and complete lack of environmental protection.

right now: 2 things:

1) I'm not sure what's happened recently, but battery life has been toilet. Maybe it's because I've been using the MXPE, where I can leave it on standby and not even worry for the most part. The most battery-chewing app is always the screen. I have "auto adjust brightness" on. Somehow I felt like it was better on Lollipop.

2) LG SmartWorld is slow and doesn't even work as well, compared to say... Galaxy Apps. Since this is where you need to get themes (and there's an easy way around Verizon's software crippling BS), I never really get to use these features.

For the most part, I try to make these phones as close to what the manufacturer intended.

I've had this phone for a while ... it is one of the best phone's I've had in many, many years!

I wish the Speaker and Ear-Piece was louder - I don't care about the sound quality off the speaker or ear-piece (as earphones are absolutely fantastic!), but the volume needs a big boost!

... and as stated, the screen rotation is very, very slow to get back to vertical.

And finally, the inability to remove bloatware ...

These are mild annoyances though. The rest of the phone is fantastic.

Battery life, thats it....but bought spare battery and charger for it, problem solved. I'd say though that this battery is the worse of all phones I've ever had. Hopefully its corrected on the V20.

With all that said, I couldn't be more happy with this phone, It has indeed replaced the Note models, I'd became so accustomed to!! Love it!

As far as the bloat, try Debloater...it works really well.

Things I don't like;

Finger print scanner doesn't always work and requires a reboot
Would be nice to have better control of notifications on second screen. For example WhatsApp notifications pop up on main screen annoyingly.
Battery life mediocre.
Screen bleeding.

But apart from these minor niggles, the v10 is definitely the best phone I've owned to date, and nothing is tempting me away (until perhaps the v20..)

Well, at least one problem was solved. You have to use mobile data to use SmartWorld, which is ridiculous.
