Things you DONT like about the HTC One?

To set the stage, I am coming from an Optimus (LG-E970) and trying out the One. Until the LG, I have usually used a Nexus. So yes, my "dislikes" are definitely paradigmed along those lines..... So far I do like this phone. I'll see how it does over the next month
Not Likes:
  • No Battery Percent
  • Stock Android functions removed
  • Blink Feed - dull. Flipboard is much better
  • Battery in status bar is frequently incorrect - of as much as 24%
  • Use it left handed - way too easy to drop sound to silent
  • Missing stock controls in notification bar (wifi / airplane / gps / etc)
  • Missing multi panel wallpaper function
  • Stock icons (including folders) dated - circa Android 1.x
  • Home button on bottom left - should have kept the 3 button stock version

more later as I dig deeper. It's only been a couple days now.

I just installed wakelock and I have used juice defender as well, but was told these apps are great but will also drain the battery. I just checked my batteries usage and it only gave me a few apps that have been using battery and they only added to be 10% of the usage. Where is the other 20% going??

I don't know that is a pretty cryptic description.

Get GSam Battery Monitor. Capture a screenshot and post it. If Apps are using the most, click on that and screen cap that like below:

Haha. Try having it on your bed near your head and forgetting to turn the sound on! I damn near jumped across the room.

I do wish the motor was as tight as the one on the DNA. The ones is a bit...violent. It's a small niggle though, and definitely not a defect.

First morning with this phone my girlfriend reminded me of the Boom Sound when she texted me. Vibrate for rude awakening then BOOM!

My phone is a good One!

Yeah, I agee with some of this, but you can change most of it.

Which phone (DE, unlocked 32gb etc) and carrier are you on? Thanks

I'm with Sprint, 32 gb locked.

Interesting note, though. I tried to leave a remark in Google Play, but couldn't find the app! I had left it installed from when I was first able to download it, so I could watch for updates.

hey something i found out today if you use the volume button to turn down the volume obviously its goes to silent but if you press it again it goes onto vibrate , then up back to silent. dont know if you know this but its a quick way to switch between the two.

Lack of quick toggles or easy transition between vibrate and silent.

I know there's an app for the toggles but it's not like htc couldn't add that.

It does not support Brother printers. I know that I can use an app (thanks to the members who told me when I posted), but I would prefer not to need to take several additional steps to print something.

BTW: This applies to the HTC 4G LTE and possibly other phones as well.

HTC, please remove that stupid "menu" bar ( three dots) at the bottom of the screen. It simply took away the screen real estate. I don't see that on any other Android devices I used.

There's already plenty of threads on it but long story short it's not htc adding that. You get the menu bar because there's no menu button on the one per google's newer design standards but many apps have yet to be updated.

One thing i really like is the way my One held up when it dropped off a four foot bar table face first on to concrete.. It still looks brand new!

Love the phone now that it's rooted with the 3 dots gone and HTC as menu button. Still the multi tasking is gimped but will deal with it

I use 2xBattery Pro version and it has improved my battery life completely. Off the charger at 8 am and I still have 48% at 9:30 pm. And we have been all day out and about with very little Wi-Fi connection.

You realize that means nothing without screenshots
