Things you DONT like about the HTC One?

Probably the only thing I am not fond of is the multi task menu. It isn't horrible but it isn't great either.

the ONE give you the ability to " globally" change a ring tone. Would be nice if they also allowed you to do the same for a text message.

My one big grip about this device is the menu option key location in most apps. It's right below the space bar and can get annoying some times. I'm sure it's probably just muscle memory and something I can get use.

Other than that I love the camera, battery life to me has been fine so far. Only using it since Friday.

I just saw this reply Thanks! My boyfriend showed me how I didn't click enable DUH! But yeah I like that it has a stay awake option it's working great now. Nice App!

Power Toggles has a stay awake toggle. To get the toggles in the notification you have to click "Enable" and it will light blue. You can also choose to Pin on top, and it will stay at the top (under the power saver, so not completely on top). To add stay awake, go to "Configure", "Add toggle", "Display", "Screen Always On".

1- Disable "auto capitalization" feature not available.

2- Lowest audio volume is still high and volume bar must be more flexible to control every 1% of the audio.

3- When you add 2 numbers under one contact name, they can't both be "Mobiles"

4- No Battery show percentage option.

5- Only "4" home screens can be Added

Really silly things I still wonder how HTC ignore them.

HTC please updateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the software.

After nearly a month with this phone I can see why Samsung continues to go in their own direction with the menu button. It is a bit annoying to reach to the top of the screen to hit the menu button.

Since I'm in a good mood and just in case you are referring to someone else, I'll be nice and just leave this picture.

I have also noticed an issues with the home and back buttons not working correctly. It's random and I can't get it to do on command. It goes back to normal after a second.

Its a known issue discussed in several threads across multiple sites that screen protectors negatively impact the One's capacitive buttons.

I'm happy to report that the screen protector was the issue. Once I removed it and replaced it with another (making sure the capacitive buttons weren't covered), it works wonderfully every time!!! Thanks for the information :)

I have a armor shield screen protector on mine and when my back button acts stupid everything else on my screen works.

You actually can update the lockscreen shortcuts, but I didn't realize how until someone else showed me how. Go into the app menu and then you will still see the home icons at the bottom. Drag one of them out and drag the app of choice into the home menu. This will replace it. Basically the lockscreen shortcuts are the same as the shortcuts on your home menu.

Here are my gripes so far...

Phone-related:
1 - I don't like that when you select the phone it automatically brings up the last call vs just bringing up the dial pad. If not careful, I will accidentally dial the number of the last call
2 - I dislike that the contacts 'favorites' can only be viewed in a grid...I think we should have the choice of seeing these favorite contacts in a list view, just like the full contacts view
3- When I want to call a contact (or a favorite), there are way too many taps required: Phone, select contacts/favorites, select contact, choose number - that's four actions just to call someone. I realize there is a 'speed dial' setting that lets you choose 2-9 to assign to frequently called numbers, but that's very limited.

Other issues:
- I can't be paired with my in-car BT and at the same time listen to audio through the phone - as soon as I start an app with audio (e.g. Scanner Radio), it wants to route that through the BT. There are times when I want to listen to the car radio but be able to take calls via BT so the phone remains paired with the car. The iPhone had a built in capability to be able to select your audio output - so when I started my scanner app on my iPhone while connected to BT, it would default to that, BUT with two taps I could tell the iPhone to play the scanner audio only through the phone and still keep BT paired for calls. I *think* there is a $3 app (Soundabout) that may let me do what I want, but really this should be built-in Android capability.
- Add me to the camp of One users that can't stand that there is no way to remove Facebook pictures from the gallery without completely removing Facebook app....that is ridiculous and HTC really needs to fix that.

Another thought on the BT issue - I'm not sure how your in-car BT appears on the device, but under Settings/Bluetooth for both my car BT and my Blueant headset, when I click the Gear next to the paired device, I get a menu that displays an option for both Phone Audio and Media Audio. I just uncheck the Media Audio for that device and it unpairs that from the device, but keeps the Phone audio connected.

hey something i found out today if you use the volume button to turn down the volume obviously its goes to silent but if you press it again it goes onto vibrate , then up back to silent. dont know if you know this but its a quick way to switch between the two.

In addition to that, when you are turning the volume down, instead of turning it all the way down to enable silent, when the Ringtone menu pops up, just hit the Phone icon on the left-hand side. Each time you hit the icon it will cycle - Silent -> Vibrate -> Ring. Discovered this by accident. But makes it even easier to cycle amongst the three modes.

Never paid any attention to that. Pretty quick way to get to all the volume settings too. Left side for silent/vibrate/ring and right side for videos and alarms. Nice.

Any way to get rid of the menu dots at the bottom of certain apps? On the evo I could remap the multitasking button to do the menu functions when long pressed and it would allow full screen use but i don't see that option.

Not without rooting. It is a major annoyance on many popular apps like Facebook, angry birds etc. it eats up precious screen space.

I do not like the off centered home button. Why couldn't the "HTC" logo be one. The number one issue though is waking up the phone with the power button. Someone please make an app that allows the phone to be awakened with the home button!!

Try using an app called "auto screen on". You can set it to wake the phone up by just touching the screen.

One thing that really annoys me about this phone is that some of the contact photos don't center correctly (when someone calls you or you call them) and that they are really pixelated. This has been a known sense problem for quite some time. Looks similar to the one on this thread: http://androidforums.com/htc-one/71...mages-when-call-received-solution-inside.html

Also don't like the power button on top because it's too recessed in. Disappointing for a phone with really good overall build quality.
