Things you've discovered on Note 8?

I don't know if it has been said, but if you swipe your finger down on the fingerprint sensor it bring down you notifications. If you swipe up it goes away.

Is this something you have to turn on? Mine doesn't do anything

You get like 5 less than appealing choices. Otherwise pay 1.50 each in the store. You used to be able to use any font on your phone. FOR FREE. As a person who's created several fonts this annoys me. Unless somehow this has changed.

I can't set a mp3 as a ring tone

I downloaded "File Manager Pro"... I then copied the .MP3 music file I wanted to use from My Music folder over to my Ringtone Folder. Don't copy the whole folder to the song you want, open the folder up if it's in one and copy only the .mp3 file inside. Once it's pasted inside the Ringtone Folder hit "refresh".

SETTINGS / DISPLAY / SCREEN ZOOM & FONT scroll down to FONT STYLE.

Previously you could download a 3rd party app to instal and use fonts of your choice. They stopped this when they started charging for fonts. Now everyone's using comic friggin sans on their samsung phones.

It works with the stock file manager. Even tho it lets you chose Google Drive, it doesnt work.

Why not? I set one from my sd card music folder as ringtone. The phone gave me the option of browsing through the file manager or media storage. I used file manager and clicked on a song I liked.

I use the Beguiat Gothic font. Looks great and anytime I seem to post screen shots, people ask me what font it is. I think it was $.99.

I had a couple of go-to fonts that were clean, but different looking... but they were free because they're free fonts.

Most of the fonts, or fonts like them, or many other fonts that arent in the samsung store can be found "Free for personal use" on font websites. I dont know how Samsung thinks this is OK. Paying for access to customize YOUR own phone?

Must be "Carrier Specific" as it's missing on that page on my AT&T Note 8, as is the "Emergency Alerts" line!

Me either, except if I understand one part, part of my text message will pop up on my screen, like a one line text but it dissappears as fast as it pops ups so I can't even read it. Now on my S8+ you had time to hit the reply and answer it but not on the Note 8! I'm thinking about getting Handcent again I really liked that messaging app.

That's probably because you have Edge lighting enabled... I think when you have that notification on it goes away pretty quickly

No the edge panel isn't even enabled....

I've discovered that Aqua Mail no longer handles things the way it used to between my gmail and desktop and the app. Now have to delete on device after deleting on desktop since it doesn't sync the change, which means twice the work for each item. also, things I move to folders on my desktop now have to be hidden on AM since that no longer works either. it was so much better before. I probably won't use it at all on my N8 now. I have enough work already, AM. thanks. none of the other apps are even remotely appealing. I used Mail Droid before and paid for the pro version. to use it now I have to pay again for the pro version. nice and also not happening.

Don't know what's wrong with your settings but Aquamail syncs just fine for me. If I read email on computer it is then marked read on Aquamail, and vice versa.

I have both and I'm on Verizon. I think no matter what, every phone should have the emergency alerts.
