Things you've discovered on Note 8?

Some hidden things the Note 8 still has from its predecessors (but also dependent on whether the carrier blocked it or not)...

1) Developer Options: Settings>About Phone>Software Information - tap the "Build number" multiple times (it will even show a count down of taps) to enable it

2) Diagnostic Tools: Access the phone and press *#0*#

On my Verizon phone you simply do Settings>About Phone>Build Number>tap tap tap until you become a developer.

Even with a light case this is a heavy phone.
And so nice to have the Stylus Back

WiFi calling is only available on AT&T phones and not the unlocked versions. You can get VVM apps from the play store. That's kind of one thing that I missed from using iPhones but I just learned to live without it on Android.

Wifi calling is also on the T-Mobile Note 8's.. It can be turned on in the menu.. It works great, I tested it out the day.

You're right about wifi calling. VVM is now baked into the phone app on AT&T. Tap the vm icon in the lower left corner in the phone app. That's VVM now

Ringtones & messaging notifications
One of my favorites is being able to go into contacts and set individual ringtones for each person or messaging notification sounds I usually download mine through a app

found the direct path in the manual, but the selections in the directions for blocking numbers don't appear on my device, except for going through settings.

From a Home screen, tap Phone >
More options > Settings > Block numbers

I do not have the options below from my recents list

Block a Number
By adding a caller to your Block list, future calls from
this number are sent directly to your voicemail, and
messages are not received.
1. From a Home screen, tap Phone.
2. Tap Recents.
3. Tap the caller you want to add to the Block list.
4. Tap Details > More options > Block number.
Confirm when prompted.

Have you tried the Hiya app? Blocks known spam numbers, lets you easily report spam calls and lets you block numbers.

Interesting. Pretty much every call ive received (including the ones pictured) have been spam calls.
see below

yeah. I'm sure I've po'd either Sprint or Sammy. tracking it down might be fun... at this point it must be some permission I took away that is tied directly to contacts or the phone itself. absolutely not doing a reset unless it actually goes TU at some point.

any chance you're using TW? it might even be the theme, but I doubt it.

eta - I have the options for regular contacts, but not for calls that have just come in if not already in contacts.

How'd you set it up on the note 8....I still get voicemails to my regular inbox. I don't know if it make a difference but I'm on verizon.
Wow LOL you just made me realize that I don't actually have it set up so I wouldn't figure out how to set it up in here is what I did you have to go on to the Google Voice website on the computer and then quick on the left side if you're on the desktop version you have to be on the desktop version quick on the left side where it says Legacy Google Voice that will open up in a new page, then from there on the new page going to need to click the gear icon and then go to settings and then click on the phone tab and down at the bottom you should see activate this phone and then it will have a pop up with a number to dial to activate your voicemail

Where mine says deactivate yours will say activate and make sure you change the carrier accordingly if it is not already
