When using off screen memo or Samsung Notes, you can activate the eraser anytime on the S Pen by simply pressing and holding the button. When done erasing simply let go of the button to go back to using the pen.

Another good one as you all probably are aware of. While home you can choose your phone to unlock and stay unlocked at a location of your choosing. If you want to lock it, of course tell Bixby, "lock phone", or just hit power key.

Only if you leave Location on all the time, which I don't. It would be nice if they gave the option to recognize "home" by a particular wifi router/signal.

That would be nice, my previous notes 2 & 3 with custom ROMs could do it by wifi, not sure about the Note 4 as I kept that stock

Already knew this but just setup one <I have 3> of the free Gear VR headsets I got with the Note 7. Works perfect on the Note 8.

Posting here too incase you miss it in the other thread.

I discovered that the Bixby button function long press for voice will only work when your settings menu set to simplified list.

I don't know why or how they are related but I recently changed my settings menu to 'view as standard list' and the Bixby button stopped working correctly. Changed it back to simplified and it's working again.

Not sure if this was mentioned, so sorry if it's been discussed.....
I have found that the fingerprint sensor will fully unlock the phone and skip the lock screen.
Basically, you can go from screen off to home screen very fast. I also like it because it's less use on hardware buttons that can wear out.

After restarting my phone, it makes me enter my pin. After that, the FPS works. Are you saying that you don't need to enter the pin after restarting? If so, what setting is that?

You should only have to enter the PIN once after restarting.

Please elaborate, I have the Note 7 Gear VR, and it just doesn't fit - the phone is too long. Did you modify it?

Sorry, meant the Gear VR's I got with the S8 Plus. The Note 8 provides the best experience I've had with any Gear VR. Smooth, doesn't heat up the phone, no slow downs. Samsung updated the browser. You can now use your device bookmarks. Also added Adblock to the browser.

I don't know if it's an update that installed overnight but when using the pen for browsing web pages, instead of just the pointer dot I have this little white hand with pointing finger, only noticed after restarting the phone when I installed a new screen protector.
( I'll put a few words on the smash-it SP in accessories section )

Did you have to do anything to get it working? I haven't even tried; I have the one I got with the N7 and just kind of assumed it wouldn't fit.

What browser are you using? Thanks. Didn't notice this til you said something. I use chrome and it doesn't do it there but does have the hand thing in the Samsung browser tho.

that's why then, I just switched to the Samsung browser from Chrome.
Since I have had all my previous Notes rooted and customised heavily I decided to try everything Samsung for a while on this one

You can use smartlock and choose other locations (address like home) or other ways (like connected to car bluetooth or smartwatch).
