Things you've discovered on Note 8?

I discovered that every other phone out there has Oreo or at least a beta but we don't yet.

That's a bit of an exaggeration... but I feel your pain! I want it too! We can sideload it if we'd like... I've done that before on my S7 Active with Nougat before it was available and it was such a PITA to go back to stock Marshmallow when the actual Nougat OTA came out... that I'll gladly wait this time!

I'm not worried about Oreo. My phone is awesome the way it is.

exactly how I feel as well,BUT I do think Samsung could be better at looking after customers paying top dollar for their top devices at launch.
Note 8 is the most awesome device in the mobile arena ever, no doubt

I think Samsung wants to be careful that they don't screw up their flagship device that has been flawless with a premature update.

Well there's that to it as well and I do agree with that, what I don't understand is why they feel comfortable to release updates in early December to my Vodafone device but my unbranded Samsung one had to wait until mid January for the exact same thing.
I'll rather a non buggy update than a quick pain in the aars.. one...

To be honest, I don't think there is a premium on Android updates like it used to me. I remember in the early days of Android, an update meant a lot more features and performance enhancements. That's not the case any longer. Now, Android software is playing catch-up to what Samsung is already offering with their skin. So, Samsung consumers aren't really waiting for features like we used to. And I believe Samsung knows this. Coupled with a very stable software experience on their best smartphone, Samsung may not feel rushing an update is in their best interest. The last thing Samsung needs is to break a product that has been successful in making up for last year's broken product.

Just noticed this yesterday...
Phone>Settings>Real Time Text.

Anyone know what's the what with this?

It adds a button to the dial screen and it seems to be for texting while calling but there has to be more to it than that.

Update: Google your Friend.

I don't have this option.
This is on the T-Mobile Note 8.

My Sprint N8 doesn't have this option, although I don't think I'd use it anyway.

Never had a phone improved by a new operating system. You can keep Oreo off my Note 8.

Things I've noticed....
1. Still loving my note8
2. Still loving my note8
3. Still loving my note8
Lol😊

Just discovered that my S-Pen also works on my Surface Pro (button n all) and the Surface Pro pen works on my Note 8. Pretty handy when I'm jumping between the 2 devices
