Things you've discovered

I've discovered (via You Tube videos) that if you leave your S-Pen out and walk away with your phone, it will beep at you and a pop up will tell you to reinsert the pen.

I've discovered (on my own) that when my S-Pen is at 1% it takes 13 seconds to recharge to 100% :o

Thanks for all the tips!

You can force RTL(right to left) layout. Basically turning most things that sit on left side of phone to the right side of phone. Don't know if it was on my note8. Just noticed it on my note9. Go to settings>developer options>force RTL layout. Including some screenshot of developer options page and time, signal and battery percentage being switched around. It would some getting used for me tho lol. I'm so used to everything being on left side. Plus I don't want to redo my notification panel toggles since they move to when you do this setting. Just posted this for the ones that want to do this.

I really like your theme! :)

If you are using your s-pen (i.e. s-pen not in your phone) and your phone is locked due to time out or any reason, you can unlock it with just a press of the s-pen button, bypassing all the biometric or password security.

*it's an option that can be disabled.

LMAO!!! Well said :)

It's better than being broke "thinking about buying" the Note 9! I think this baby came out at an inopportune time for me - I have NEVER had an issue buying a Flagship outright. This year, we're buying a whole house standby generator after one too many extended winter power failures - getting too old to sit in the cold with no heat or lights. The 55 year old furnace has to go also and it's time for that as well! My Note 9 may be waiting until spring!

I've discovered that being on Pixel for the last 2 years, I have missed:
The S-Pen/Screenshot and write on it
The ability to scroll capture
The ability to let my clients sign my screen for a credit card payment with a PEN
The ability to use two apps at once (easily, was a little jumpy on Pixel)
The ability to natively schedule text messages for a later time
A secure folder (yes, I use it.)
Secure apps inside that folder
The "edge" panel (yes, I use it.)
Drawing and coloring - I use it to relax.
THIS GORGEOUS DISPLAY. (I SUPER underestimated how much I had missed it.)

Edited to add: SO HAPPY I can find ACCESSORIES AGAIN.....

I hear ya. With winter right around the corner, I would put the N9 on the back burner also. Might as well wait for the N10.

I missed just about those same features when I got my P2

I've discovered how utterly deliriously happy I am with my Ocean Blue Note 9 (that matches my Kona Blue Ford Flex) and the Spigen color matching shimmery-matte (equals no fingerprints) case to protect all it's wonderfulness ;) Plus getting my phone ring on it to tame this beast's manageability. It's a big phone (I knew it when I chose it) for these small hands but a phone ring makes it all good!
BTW, ringtone is Thunderclouds by LSD/Sia (Note 9 theme song)

Still waiting on preorder for mine so I've been looking up online about the features and operation. I have no intention of using AOD, (always on display) but I found that if you enable it, you can double tap the home button to launch the camera. That I really like.

So I might try a work around of enabling AOD, setting a black clock and turning up the transparency to max. So no battery usage but technically AOD is enabled and so I can use the quick launch camera.

I also discovered you can register a different, dedicated finger so that you can tap on the FPS on that finger and launch directly secure folder.

All good stuff. I also will use auto weekly restart. Feature galore this phone. Can't wait to get it.

I also found a really nifty feature for the iris scanner. I won't use intelligent scan, just FPS and iris. I don't want to press the power button/home button and swipe up to activate iris and I know there is a setting to just press either and the iris starts scanning.

I don't like that either as battery is used everytime you press the home button and all I want to do is check notifications, time, operate a music controller etc.

I discovered there is a setting to adjust and set a pressure level for the home button which then can bypass the lock screen and prompt for secure unlock. So I can press the home button normally for the usual operations but then if I want to specifically activate the iris scanner, press it firmer.

Awesome. Problem solved.

If you save a live focus picture off of the internet or someone sends you the full jpg file of a live focus photo done on a galaxy.

You can still adjust the blur and you can change between the close up and wide angle version of the picture as if you took the picture off of your phone.

Yeah I read that too. And you reminded me of something. I had briefly a Nokia lumia 1020 which would take a pic in RAW and JPEG at the same time. The Note 9 can be enabled to do the same. That's fantastic.

Samsung Core Apps are so underrated it's insane lol.

Do any of you guys or gals use Samsungs Link Sharing by any chance?

It's pretty neat. I'm sure you can do the same thing with Google Drive but I like how quickly you can send someone link showing them a full quality picture or video through a text message in just a few seconds.

Pretty sure I've been doing this since my Galaxy S7 or is this something new?
