I have discovered a truly bewildering array of options to multiview, in both pop up and split screen. And some things you just won't find even online but by tinkering.

For e.g., I did see a YouTube video saying that you can pull out an edge panel, drag and drop an app to the main screen and it automatically goes to pop up view.

What no one tells you is that this only works in the pre-installed "apps edge" panel. I downloaded another multiview apps panel and when I tried to do the same drag and drop, it didn't work. Also, I didn't notice that when you pull out edge panels, assuming it's enabled in settings, you'll see at the bottom..

I didn't know that if you have pop up or multiview in the bottom of an edge panel, that any apps you tap on AUTOMATICALLY go to that setting. This drove me nuts for 30 mins as I couldn't work out why everything I opened went straight to pop up or multiview.

And if that's not enough ways, you can:

1. Press recents and press on individual multiview tabs on the cards.

2. Press and hold the recent button, (has to be enabled in settings).

3. Drag a corner of a full screen app and reduce it down or minimise to a floating icon.

4. Open recents, drop and drag an app card to the middle of the screen for pop up view or to the top for multiview. Lol, I saw this one in a YouTube video for the Galaxy S9 and tried it for the Note 9. Yes, it still works.

Good grief. Confusing array. I've probably missed another way.

Multiview is one of those things I always forget about using.

One other way, you can create shortcuts for say 2 apps you normally use together. You can add a shortcut that opens both apps together in MultiView.

I use SwiftKey as well. As for your other problem, could you be receiving delayed notifications because your phone is off? The text that was delayed was sent while your phone was off but got all the ones he sent right away while your phone was on. Just a thought.


Semi off topic: Are they really going to announce a new phone in October? Kind of makes me wish I held off on the Note.

Yes my phone was off originally but then it was on for almost an hour and a 1/2 before the message actually came through. And that was while texting back-and-forth in real time

So odd I just realized the Lookout feature from t-mobile was not activated like it previously was on my note 5. Just logged in so it could do a scan and everything was fine. I came to this page through a bookmark on my phone. While I'm reading stuff I get one of those annoying pop up saying you have 1 spin for a free prize. Never had that happen before on my phone so odd.

I see there is an app for McAfee....do people use that 1 maybe?

The multi edge panel is very useful as I can put a lot of apps on it unlike apps edge. But I use apps edge to put 5 paired app combinations-something you can't do on the paid app.

The 2 together is very handy.

I feel like anything I’d use it with now, on the Note, is easier to just use the S Pen Glance feature.

The N9 isn't included in the compatibility list yet unless that's an oversight by the developer.

Anyone know which keyboard is best for predictive text? I don’t recall which one I used on my N5 and I am hating not getting word suggestions and corrections. Though I get lots of bad auto corrects lol. Thanks.

Oh...still getting long delays in notifications in text msgs. Hubby texts me every morning to let me know where he is going to be as he is on the road. Today he texted me around 8am. I didn’t turn my phone on till after 10am. I texted him and asked why he didn’t text me and he said he did around 8am. We were able to text back and forth. It was another hour and around 11:30am before his msg from 8am popped up in my text msg. I have a delay with FB notifications too. TMO has been no help. Suggestions? Thanks.

I like the Reminder app. In the past I was never able to figure out how to find it to put a short cut on my screen. Did a little searching online and found it's a system app. Added it this evening.

I'm sure many here already know this but I wanted to share for those that maybe didnt know.

Thanks...l have used Swiftkey in the past. I just enabled it and tweeked it for the N9. Not liking placement of some punctuation keys. Will have to play around with it more.

I am not sure how I added it...but I added it a week or so ago. It was either from Bixby or Google i think.

Just discovered in the camera app you can zoom in and out if press and hold the shutter button and then slide it.

I just discovered you can open edge panels from the lock screen. Offline applications like calculator will open up whilst online applications will open once you activate your secure lockscreen.

I've discovered you can't have Bixby voice enabled and use the the camera's voice control. It's one or the other. Why? You're not saying "Hi Bixby" before saying shoot, or smile or cheese.

Yes I believe we discussed this before maybe it was in a different thread LOL. Kind of aggravating as I’m used to saying smile and I don’t have that option. I’m not having much luck with Bixby but I’m trying to play around with it some before I give up on it LOL

That's not new. I know it's been that way since the s8 . I agree it does suck though. Especially if you're one of the people who actually want to utilize Bixby. You shouldn't have to choose.
