ThinkFree. Is it free?

I've been searching for an office app lately. I'm not sure I'll be composing anything, but it wouldn't hurt to know that the app is capable of more than just viewing. My question, though, is about ThinkFree that comes pre-installed on the Verizon Fascinate. I've used it to view files, but it asks me if I want to activate it. Is there any fee associated with this? I don't want to activate - or even continue to use - any stock app that's merely a try&buy deal. Can anyone shed some light? And if I am charged to activate it, does anyone recommend any free alternatives?

i'm not rooted and don't necessarily plan to until the love/hate child we call Froyo comes OTA.

thanks for your help.

You can activate it without paying anything. The app is not free in the market. Not sure if we got a full version or just the trial.

I've been using ThinkFree for over a month now. So if it is just a trial, it's longer than 30 days.

Yes I have been using it since Sept and no charge. There is a lite version in the market that is free, but the full version is paid. Take advantage of the preinstalled one - I really like it!

started as, and still is free, NickA?

Yeah. It allows me to create files as well. So it appears to be the full version. If I go to the About screen it doesn't say anything about a trial.

And it also does PDF files so there's no need to also have acrobat installed. I personally like it and use it on a regular basis for spreadsheets.

i noticed that. yet another reason to keep it and use it. i won't use it too often, but more than expected now that DropBox is installed. I've been a heavy DB user for recording sessions mostly. LOVE IT.
