It's in the Market. Also, check out AppBrain. You can easily browse through Market apps on your computer, and then selected them to be installed or uninstalled the next time you use AppBrain's sync feature on its Android App.

I've had my Pre since launch date, I've never had it replaced or anything it's worked well for me this entire time. Then again I don't do anything major with it, I rarely used the GPS and if I played a game I was playing Blackjack. I've been with Sprint for a long time and I really had hoped the Pre would be the answer to the lack of great phones they've had but it fell a little short. Definitely looking forward to having something that actually shoots great pictures and can take some decent video and most importantly looking forward to Sprint getting back into the game with what looks to be their best phone in a long long time.

P.S. - I was 11th at my Best Buy to preorder

I'm also contemplating getting an EVO. I had a Pre and got a Nexus a few months ago and in my opinion the grass is not exactly greener on the other side. Where my Pre brothers say "Too Many Cards", my Android brothers say Force Close. You think copy and paste from e-mail is half baked on a Pre, try it with Android. I also miss 3D gaming, things seem a bit 80sish in Android. I'm not hating. I switch back and forth between the two and love both OSs. But as Pre-vious Pre users, know that each will have its shortcomings and you will have to choose which ones are acceptable.

i think you'll find that the HTC customizations polish up Android quite nicely.

I posted in another thread but I'll share here too. I went from the Mogul to the Pre and now I will be getting the Evo. There were three shortcomings outside of the shoddy hardware that make me want to make the change to the Evo.

1. Can't search the Pre's calendar. Palm's strength prior to the Pre was PIM and they totally borked it on the Pre..

2. Can't transfer files via Bluetooth on the Pre. Really? COme on now...

3. Lack of a "Home" screen that shows by basic needed info at a glance like Weather, Time, and upcoming appointments.

I loved the Pre for WebOS but these shortcomings and releasing what I still consider to be inferior hardware and a Beta quality experience has caused me to look for another SmartPhone.

Can't wait 'til the 4th.

I will then counter that with love. I bought my Pre the second week it was out. I love just about everything about WebOS. I'm really fond of the form factor as well. If anything I wish it was a side slider as I tend to use my phone in landscape more often then portrait. The simplicity, intuitivity, and the oppeness of the platform is the reason I think it has the most potential of any smartphone OS. The only problem that the Pre has, is it's immaturity. Remember when the G1 first launched? It was praised for being a game changer, but suffered from the same types of issues the Pre has had. For what its worth, I think the Pre was an excellent first attempt with WebOS.

My one wish going forward (and I think the HP merger will help this exponentially) is that Palm needs to be MUCH quicker putting out phones. If the iPhone releases a new iteration every year, Palm needs to one up them. Now, I don't think they need/can keep up with the pace of android phones. I think they need to release 2-3 phones every year. I think they need 3 distinct styles of phones to release every year, a Pixi style, an Evo/Incredible/N1 style, and a landscape slider Touch Pro style.

Truth be told, I'm in love with the Evo, but if Palm had a phone coming out in June alongside the Evo, I'd probably be going Palm again.

I got real tired of people saying that the Pre could do all of the basic functions it should do out of the box if you root this or homebrew that or turn to Preware. Call me crazy but I think a Smart Phone should do everything most dumb phones do out of the box.

I agree. The community made the Pre much better than it is.
Someplace Palm got lost. I think the Evo will be good for WebOS.
When they see the 3% market share drop they'll have to do something spectacular. Unless they're going to totally focus on tablets.

I also love my Pre and webos and have had good luck with the hardware with no issues but.... I cant reist the Evo. 1st on the list at local Bestbuy. The pre is going to my husband to replace his instinct that he got when i got my Pre. He always gets my hand me downs. If he doesnt like the pre we may become a 2 evo family.

Coming from Pre to EVO. Cant wait. Palm just dragged ass and never made the Pre what it could have been. Ill be getting my 3rd replacement next week.

I am a pre owner that will make the switch. I love the pre, WebOS is awesome, but the device is also very buggy. I have been following the pre since it was first announced and it was the first phone i was really excited about. After ten days, it started freezing on me. After five pre's, I feel that it's time for a change.

After hearing my sprint rep from best buy hinting of a wiimax device back in jan (later to be known as the evo), I started to look more into android and I am really liking what I am seeing. So I guess the Evo is the second phone that I am excited about and it seems very promising.

Im a pre owner, and have been since launch. webos is wonderful but the device is plauged with hardware problems. Im on my 7th pre and everytime its been the speaker going out on me. june 4th i will be useing my evo

Launch day Pre owner. Have had to swap it 3 times. Like a lot of others have said, WebOS is great...but the hardware issues have created a big black eye. That and my internal gadget freak has caused me to decide to switch and order an Evo. I may go back to a Palm device next year...we'll see what they do.

WebOS is AWESOME. It needs the simple things though that Palm never got around to. Any Pre user knows what I mean. Terrible hardware. I will miss the OS but with Android and the EVO i wont look back. WebOS with EVO hardware and improvements to WebOS would make one sweet phone!

I've been using a Palm device since the first U.S. Robotics PalmPilot came out over 15 years ago. And, I was the first out the door with my Sprint Palm Pre on launch day almost a year ago.! I really like my Pre. It's a great size (even though my eyes need a larger screen) I LOVE the Touchstone charging system! WebOS is great.

HOWEVER, I can not deal with the poor battery performance, "too many cards open" error when only one card is open! Looooong restart time which is required daily to keep the phone from bogging down. etc, etc, etc!

I have not yet pre-ordered an Evo, but I'm sure I will have one within a few days of launch.
