Thinking of switching from Note 3 to LG G2, has anyone else done it?

I also swiched, about 2 month ago. My Note 3 was really poorly processed and after about 3 weeks the battery inflated. So I sold it and bought the G2, now I'm happy :)

Hi,

I've had the Note 3 for under 2 weeks now. I've pretty much adjusted to the size (coming from iphone 5), and the OS is fine. According to T Mobile policy I can exchange my phone within the first 2 weeks. The G2 is slightly more comfortable in my hands. I'm not concerned about resale value because I'm part of T Mobile's jump program.

Has anyone else made a change from the Note 3 to G2? If so, are you happy with the switch?
Any thoughts on it?

THANKS :)

Don't do such kind of mistakes. Note 3 is on another level. At the moment, it's NUMBER 1 in the market without any doubt. :)

If you are only able to give ur own cocky biased opinion without giving an intelligent response as to why u chose the Note 3 over the G2 then don't bother commenting on this post because nobody cares...The original poster and many like him are interested in responses by others who have made the switch and their experiences doing so... Plz try not to make a fool of yourself!

Now back to the topic at hand.

I did not make the switch from the Note 3 but I couldn't be happier with my G2 it does everything I need it to do flawlessly and Damn does it look sexy doing so...

I'm in the same boat as the original poster...I have a Note 3 and I'm thinking of switching to the G2, mainly because I can't get used to the ergonomics of the Note 3, plus all of the gimmicky features I never use. The G2 feels good ergonomically, but seems to have the same gimmicky features of the S4 and Note 3. Are the buttons on the back of the phone a hinderance or do they improve the user experience? I'm also thinking of picking up the Nexus 5 due to the no non-sense aspect of the phone. I'm stuck trying to decide? Help please...

The buttons on the back are really useful. To wake up the device from standby I mainly use the knock on feature, one of my favorites. Acually I don't like ui's like TW but I tried it and debloated a bit and now it's great to use. If you want to save money and you like vanilla android, the nexus will be your friend. If you want a productive, great looking device, with amazing display take the g2.

I have owned the Note 3 as well as the Nexus 5 and went with the G2 in the end. The "gimmicks" in LGs ui are actually pretty useful for the most part and are integrated better than Samsung's in my opinion, especially after you ditch the stock theme. I never used a lot of them on the S4 or Note 3(with the exception of smart stay) but find myself using LG's add-ins more and finding them convenient and many times improving the experience. That said I should mention that I'm a true 1 handed user as I'm paralyzed in one arm. The Note 3 was just to big to use daily one handed and had minimal accessibility options to improve that. The G2 and Nexus 5 fit well in my hand and are pretty useable out of the box, the G2 is better for me tho because it does have a lot of accessibility options for more conveniently operating the device one handed.

As for the buttons on the back, at first I was worried also, but honestly I rarely use them. Knock on is one of those "dang this is awesome" kind of features and I'll want it or something similar in any future phone I own as it just flat out makes sense!

Additional info that swayed me, battery life on my Nexus 5 sucked! I live in a 1-2 bar area and it just drained the battery like crazy, the G2 seems to handle poor signal much better and I easily can go 12-14 hours on a charge and consider myself an exceptionally heavy user as I rely on my phone for pretty much everything. I think the camera on the G2 is better as well, although that is coming from a father of 5 who is always trying to get a quick pic of my kids so my priorities are probably different than most.

This is great input...after some research and user experiences, I've nailed it down to the G2. Will post my thoughts after a week or so of use. Thanks!

Glad to see more and more people making the switch to the G2 it really is an exceptional device that doesn't get all the credit it deserves... Many companies these days have lost there edge when it comes to creating new and innovative features and experiences, but LG has risen above the rest in these areas lately and continue to produce excellent products and are getting better at it all the time...

I had the Note 3 and it was great but toooooo big. I went to the G2 in Nov 2013 and got it for free with a special offer. G2 is so much faster, battery life is incredible, is so much faster without lag. Screen is off the hook. Only diff is the camera is sometimes laggy in low light. You have to change setting. When update to kitkat comes, hopefully it will be fixed. LOVE MY G2! BTW, it has a wow factor when people see it and ask what it is.

I get at least 30 hrs and I have a FitBit w\bluetooth running, streaming music a couple hrs a day, with moderate texting, e-mail, Facebook etc. Thing is a beast, the G2. I use Light Flow too for notifications. All kinds of apps running. Thing is great. Why don't you try each one for 14 days and decide?

No one can make that call for you :) Two nice devices. For me personally i would keep the LG G2. It would fit my personal needs much better than the N3
