If I go with the 30GB plan is there any way to get bonus data?

I've been with Verizon for about 9years and currently have 4 lines. 2 are unlimited and 2 are 2GB per month.

Trying to see if there is a way to save money and get the most out of a new plan.

Thanks

You should be able to. They are offering 30 GB + 2 GB per line that you put on that 30 GB.

I just called Verizon 611. Asked about the 2 GB per line promtion. I was asked how I knew about it and said I saw it on Android Forums.com. She put me on hold, came back and said my 2 lines were approved and the promo will stay in effect as long as I remain on the Plan. Increasing or decreasing monthly GB would have no effect and there was no contract involved. (Currently no contract on either line.

As for Customer Service, I know a lot of folks complain about it, but I have never encountered a problem with Verizon. ??????

I swapped to the 24 GB +2GB power line, not having unlimited will suck but paying about 350ish a month for service was not cutting it.

This is what I find so confusing. At the moment, I have three smartphone lines and one dumb line on my account. The dumb line is just $9.99. Two smartphone lines are each $9.99 plus $30.00 for 2GB of data. My line is $90.00 text and talk, $49.99 for unlimited data, and $30.00 for a mobile hotspot.
I just now upgraded my phone through Best Buy and had to sign off that I agreed to my unlimited goes away and becomes just 2GB.
Now the current XXL plan is 24GB plus 2GB per line for $110 and the hotspot is included. Of course, it's sad to lose the unlimited, but if it's now a given, isn't the XXL plan an awesome deal compared to what I've been paying for ever and ever? Or am I not thinking straight here?

If you switch, the line access fee for each line still under contract will be $40 instead of $20.

Fine print says "2GB bonus data/mo/line for each new smartphone activation or upgrade purchased on device payment for as long as line remains active on the new Verizon Plan size L (8GB) or above."

I started to go through the steps to switch my Nationwide plan to the new Verizon Plan and it wasn't clear that I'd get 2GB bonus data per line.

:/

I think I've looked through my current bill pretty closely and saw no line access fee or a $20 fee anywhere. Nothing except what I listed above, plus various extra charges, of course, about $10.

...did you already switch?

No, no. The new phone isn't here yet.

OK.

You're not on the new plan yet. it wouldn't have shown up when you upgraded on your current plan.

New plan is $20 per smartphone line (line access fee) plus data amount.

If you're a current customer switching to the new Verizon Plan, your current contract end dates don't change.

So for example, if you you have 4 smartphone lines on an older plan and only one is out of contract, switching to XL would be:

L1: $40
L2: $40
L3: $40
L4: $20
XL data: $90

As each line reaches their invidual contract end dates, their access fee will be reduced by $20.

I had to get the dude on the phone to go to his supervisor to get me the 2GB per line. Once he did I got it. I would not have made the change without that extra data

So, if I understand you correctly, once the new phone on L1 is activated (and goes under contract), and with L2 and L3 still under contract, and L4 out of contract, my bill with the XL plan should be around $230. Will there be the $9.99 fees for each L2, L3, and L4 lines? What other charges am I not considering?
At this point, with unlimited data on L1 that is our of contract and mobile hotspot included my bill is $250. I have a feeling that not only will I lose the UDP, I won't ever break even.

There are no additional line fees.

Odd. That sounds like it's not supposed to happen.

Do I get the 2 GB bonus data if I change my plan to the new Verizon Plan L or higher but don't add or upgrade a smartphone at the same time?

No. You must add or upgrade a smartphone with a device payment agreement when changing to the new Verizon Plan size L in order to receive the 2 GBs of bonus data

It isn't that is why I had to push to get it. My motto is "If you don't ask you are telling yourself no." I ask and push for a ton of crap from companies that provide me services. I think I am on year 6 or 7 of free NFL Sunday Ticket because I ask and then push to get it.

I'm in the same situation. Was told the only way to get the +2GB per line is to get a new phone.
I was trying to ask the monthly difference between being on our off contact, but they wouldn't answer me outright. Good thing I saw this thread. I was thinking of going back on contract on 2 lines to get new phones, then switching to the 10GB plan, but that would end up costing me $20/month instead of saving me $20

Last week I switched from my old More Everything Plan to the new Verizon Plan. Right now I have one line off contract so the access fee dropped $20, and at the end of this month the other line will be off so it will drop another $20.

I've been watching prices on phones looking for a deal to upgrade. Today I see that Verizon is no longer offering contracts on most of the phones. It's either full retail or device payment plan. They've been pushing the device payment thing so I guess this is their way of finally forcing even long time contract customers out of their contracts.
