Thinking of switching to Sprint

I would check with other Sprint users for your area and ask about the coverage. I have friends that left Sprint due to bad reception and we live 15 miles from a major city.

The Sprint S5 seems to have issues that the Verizon and AT&T devices don't have...mostly when it comes to the antennae. I also hear a lot of complaints about Sprint's coverage. If I had to choose a carrier it would NOT be Sprint. I mean no disrespect to those who are happy with Sprint.

Ditto here.

My son was with Sprint and suffered with it for 3 years because his phone was provided by his employer.

He is now a happy AT&T user with a brand new iPhone 5S (he preferred the G S5) but his new employer, once again, is paying the tab so it is the iPhone for him now.

I currently have an iPhone 5s on AT&T but our bill is about $130 a month and we are expecting a child in October so we wanted to cut down on our expenditures. I looked into all of the cell companies and figured out we can get a discount on Sprint through my work that has us paying $50 a month for a year and then $90 after that. My question is does the Sprint GS5 have any features the other carriers don't have on theirs?

Sprint works fine for me to be honest. I have a Framily plan with 6 people, so I basically pay $56 (tax included) for unlimited everything. I don't get 30Mbps or anything, but most of my LTE is 4Mbps consistent. As I don't watch movies much over LTE, it's fine. Have yet to try Spark though. Basically, if you can get a Framily plan, and don't need 30Mbps of limited data, and TMobile isn't in your area, then Sprint is a good enough choice imho.

Also, reddit.com/r/SprintFramily if you want a FramilyID. You don't need to give personal data at all either.

If you're still interested in giving Sprint a try, here's some news just posted on AC

RootMetrics conducted the largest network test ever, and the results were quite interesting, but also predictable. Verzion and AT&T scored the highest, while Sprint and T-mobile were always battling for last place.

You can go to their website here for a zip code report. They conduct official tests all over the U.S., and their reports are very thorough.

Like others have said, it all depends on where you live. I'm lucky enough to live in a Sprint Spark area and just couldn't be happier with this device.

I've been with SPRINT for 13 years, I've never found a reason to leave! I travel all around the country and get great service, no dropped calls, and fast enough for me data!

I say T-Mobile.. great data speeds and voice quality and with WiFi calling you can't go wrong.. I had Sprint for 3 years and I am so happy I made the switch to T-Mobile..

i think there's a lot of people with Sprint that just don't realize how bad they have it because they have nothing to compare it to. i was one of those people.

I switched from Sprint to TMobile and dropped my monthly bill from $90 to $30....and that's more than paid for the cost to buy my phone.

How did you get it to $30? What phone do you have?

He is talking about the prepaid Walmart plan. It's $30 (this includes tax already) for 100 minutes of talk, unlimited text, and 5 GB of high speed data.

100 minutes of talk is an absolute no for me. Unlimited or at least 500 with unlimited mobile to mobile. I talk a lot

Sprint changed their discount program AGAIN. I get a discount as well. 25%. That 25% is off the data portion only, which is $30 per phone. So the 25% savings translates into $7.50 per phone, which is BS. That doesn't even cover the various taxes that are on the bill.
25% used to be off the total bill.
Then sprint changed it to 25% off the PRIMARY line.
Now, it's 25% off the data plans for each line.
I don't think it's possible for Sprint to tighten the screws any more than they have.

I had a iPhone 5 on sprints network for a year or less, I ended up switching to T-Mobile bc I live in Kent Ohio & last Halloween there was thousands of ppl who came out to campus to party & I couldn't dial out, receive calls or text all around campus for a few days. Basically I missed a lot of important stuff mainly for class. If I went outside of Kent it was always a hit in miss, basically depends on your area of coverage. Sorry for the short novel lol

Yea I hardly do at all so 100 min is more than enough for me. TMobile has another one with unlimited minutes.....think its $50 or $60.

Doesn't T-Mobile have the fastest 4G LTE network? I see a lot of people saying their data speed is 42.5 mbps on average.
