This awesome phone is in my hands. Any questions?

so sounds like the battery is ten times better.
That's really my only gripe with the incredible 1, well that and the screen size.

Root and install skyraider 4.0, the battery life seems to be on par with the new incredible 2 stock rom.

Well, I typically have the same exact usage on my phone everyday. Today, my dinc 2 has been used for more than my normal usage (very heavy) and I'm at 35%. It's 2pm and I took it off the charger at 7am, started using it at 7:30am

My dinc 1 would be dead by now with this extremely heavy usage. With skyraider it would be dead 30 minutes ago, if I was stock it would be dead like 2 hours ago (that's how much I've been using it today), and if I was on cm7 it would die just about now.

Of course these are just estimates, but like I said I typically have almost the exact same usage on my phone everyday, and I'm very familiar with the times the battery would be dead.

With my normal usage I would estimate the inc 2 to be around 50% right now. I've just been using it more than normal today.

after how long? i'm thinking about getting this phone too after seeing a lot of positive reviews on battery life.

EDIT: just read your above posts. nvm.

It's a fact that the battery life is better on the inc2. I'd even say its the best battery life out of any android phone, and I've owned a lot.

Right now I only have the dinc 1 to compare it to, since that is the last phone I've owned before this one.

Like I said, today I'm using the phone more than usual. When I say heavy usage, I mean the screen has probably been off for about 1 hour total since the almost 8 hours its been off the charger. As of now, I'm at 33%. My dinc 1 would already be dead, no matter what Rom I was on.

wowww.... that's pretty damn good battery life. only one i've used in the past is droid pro, and that had decent but not nearly as good as what you are saying your getting from the dinc2

Ok the battery life may be ok going to give it a good run on Tuesday hopefully it will outlast my fascinate that at 30% after 4 hours and that's with life use

On skyraider 3.5 & HeyItsLou #8 I would get about 6 hour usage with the HTCexpress battery and over 20hours idle. With Skyraider 4.0 and bundle kernel I been getting 8-10 hours usage and over 25 hours idle. This is mostly 3g usage, with wifi battery life is even better.

I'm getting about the same usage from my incredible 2 for the past 2 days. Are you sure you had Skyraider 4.0 that just came out this week? Not knocking the incredible 2 but I think I'm going to return my since it wasn't that much of a upgrade for me.

Yep I was on skyraider 4.0, the newest one that recently came out.

Sorry to hear about your dinc 2. I'm experiencing the best battery life I have ever experience on an android phone, so I'm extremely happy.

BTW, my battery is at 13% and it's 5:30pm.

That's 10 hours and 30 minutes since I pulled it off the charger, with more than normal usage. I have literally been on the phone pretty much all day, since I went on a long drive today (I wasn't driving obviously).

i also don't think that dave9851 is the only one to report much better battery life than the dinc1. seen a few posts already and a youtube review stating quite amazing batt life on the dinc2

Which is better the Thudunderbolt or this.

From a strictly technical point TB wins. But....

That's one you'll have to decide on your own. I've been going back and forth and finally decided that LTE mattered less to me than (for me) a better form factor (4" vs 4.3"). Otherwise they are pretty much equivalent. I don't really need simultaneous voice & data which would be another benefit of the TB. Another benefit the TB gives you is the larger microSDHC card. It all depends on what you value.

You will likely be happy with either. I know it was a difficult decision for me. Coming from the Eris anything was going to be a big improvement.

The DInc 2 is basically a 3G version of the TB.

Things that are the same:
Same Qualcomm processor
1.3MP front facing camera / 8MP dual flash rear facing camera
Sense 2.1

Things missing:
4G antennae
Kick stand

Things that are better:
DInc 2 has gorilla glass TB does not
DInc 2 has bigger battery and much better battery life.
DInc 2 is lighter and more solid
DInc 2 is a world phone
DInc 2 has better touch cap buttons

If you live in a 3g area the DInc 2 is the best phone on VZW.

Im really on the fence about this phone, it seems great but coming from an Inc now I'm not feeling like its a good choice since it has to last two years. Any Inc 2 owners able to tell me how they feel coming from Inc 1 to Inc 2?

Don't forget that the incredible 2 has a super LCD screen while the Thunderbolt has a regular screen (tft I believe?). A lot of people think the Thunderbolt has a super LCD screen, but it does not (confirmed by HTC).

Even though it's currently the best non 4g phone on Verizon (or any network), I wouldn't get in a two year contract with it. I purchased it off contract and was able to get it out the door for under $350 ($439 full retail price - $150 best buy gift card that I had).
