This awesome phone is in my hands. Any questions?

I don't think you should worry about bump charging, yet. Better processor & components. Bigger battery. Good reports of battery life from other users. Looks like things will be fine with the Inc2 battery.

We had a terrible time with the battery that came with the Inc1 - it's understandable that some folks are concerned.

Definitely don't need to do that with the 2. By far the best battery life I've seen on any android phone.

I just want to know if the Incredible 2 trickle charges unlike the original. I assume it does since all of the other newer HTC phones do but I could be wrong. With my Incredible I plug it in when I go to sleep, wake up, unplug and I lose about 10% instantly. So I have to plug it in a second time every morning to get a true 100%.

Nope, mine stayed at 100% for a while yesterday and started going down as I was using it (99, 98, 97, etc). I'm using the battery life widget.

I'm currently charging it again to 100% just to check this out and make sure. I'll let you know for sure in about 20 minutes.

I tend to be very hard on phones when it comes to usage. One of the only reasons why I liked my Droid X.

My phone sits in low signal for my entire work day, a lot of the time no signal, so I'm very optimistic about this phone. My Eris and my coworkers dinc would be down to 25% by hour 5.

Didn't have it happen with my first charge. You need a few charges though before you break the battery in though.

After some time lurking on forums I purchased this phone last night.
It is my first smart phone- data & texting plan. So far I really like it, the screen is beautiful and the PERFECT size. I made my first call today and it was very clear and I didnt have to have my ear in one certain spot to be able to hear (like my LG Venus- hey dont laugh).
So far my only issue is just not knowing all the fun things to do with it. Is there some place to find a step by step user guide for newbies?? I find the knowledge of most on BB's are far more advanced than I and right now I just need to know the basics.

Im like you! My FIRST android device will be here Monday and im VERY excited...coming from an alias 2 (worst decision ever). If anybody knows of anything other than the user guide online obviously, your tips/tricks would be much appreciated!

Well, I'll give you a couple tips. EVERYTHING you see on the home screens can be moved around or deleted. Press and hold on the icon or widget and do what you want with it. I had a few friends move to android phones and they though that the homescreens couldn't be changed!

So basically just customize it how you want. HTC sense (with is the custom UI over android) is the most user friendly UI, in my opinion. I'm sure you guys will have no problem getting used to the phone and having a blast.

Another thing, the MENU BUTTON! You may be in an app and think, "hmm...where are the settings in this app??", so remember the menu button on your phone. That pretty much opens up the settings menu for anything. So remember if you can't figure out something when your in an app, browser, whatever, tap the menu button on your phone.

Oh and another cool thing...the search button on your phone is amazing! Press and hold the search button and a box will come up asking you to speak. You can say commands such as "navigate to (address or place), call (person), text (name) (what you want to say in the text)," etc. It's awesome.

Other than that, just download a bunch of apps and enjoy it!

Just did my second full charge. It does not drop 10%. Stays at 100% and just drops by 1% as you use it.

Is it necessary to get a texting app?? I see some people use tapatalk (or something similar to that name). What is the purpose- ease of use?

Also are there any navagation recommendations?

From my first charge I had the phone on for 12 hours. Not hard use as I have no idea what I am doing but there was a little playing and a few downloads and a call. Overall I am very happy with this phone.

First, all hail Ahsoka! ;)

Second, welcome to Android.

Third, I don't know of any guides for n00bs. You've found a solid community in these forums and a good source for information at the androidcentral.com home page. Ask questions - someone will likely have an answer.
