Those of you with ICS...whatcha think?

I assume from having a dedicated search button, not having the Google search box wasn't needed. I hated having that on every home screen taking up real estate for other widgets which is great on this phone because the line separating the dock from the main screen makes the screen look chopped off even tho it isnt.

I'm really liking ICS on the Maxx it seems so much better then it did on my G/N so I did have experience coming from the G/N it will take time to get use to everything. Battery seems just as good if not a little better at 20 hours and still at 60%. Also seems a little quicker and smoother.

While there are some improvements that come with ICS, there are also some changes that I really don't like.

Here's a list of some of the changes I don't like:

1) The Auto Brightness is about 10 - 15% dimmer than it was before. I like a bright screen but I also like to use Auto Brightness. Google should offer the ability for users to still use Auto Brightness but deviate from the standard setting. (Auto Brightness + 10% as an example where the user can specify the percentage.)

2) The screen scrolling that you can do by flipping your finger is much slower than it was with GB. It feels like a bike wheel that's dragging because it needs some WD-40.

3) The browser and Chrome have a setting where you can increase the font size but it doesn't work like it did in GB. GB seemed to increase the size of the entire webpage where ICS only increases the size of the text and some text it doesn't increase.

I love ICS, but Im not seeing the dictation feature. When you speech input a text it should printout the words as you say them, how does this work?

Re: con #5, I don't understand the car dock default...the stock motorola app isn't listed to be a default when the MAXX is docked if another car app is available (like VZ Navigator)...why? Can that be fixed/changed?

good except for 2 things. 1- Had to reset the phone and start over. 2- Screen is too dark on the lowest settings. turning it up just wears down the battery.

I had to clear out the cache for Google Music. My library was all messed; songs under the wrong artist/album.

So far, LOVING IT! Wanted to wait a few days so I could be sure of what I see instead of posting knee jerk reactions. I haven't really found anything bad yet. The very first day I had some WiFi issues as it would drop constantly. The very next day, no problems AT ALL. Battery seems about the same, it's really hard to tell. Moderate to heavy use, I was getting about 17 hours. Seems to be about the same. My heaviest day of use, I got 14.5 hours which is PLENTY good enough for me. Scrolling actions seem a bit more fluid. Phone is a bit more responsive overall I feel.

Best feature is being able to "Disable" apps. I LOVE that feature. Can't drop them all but can get most of them out the way.

Even without ICS, I felt the Maxx was a superior phone and was already starting to like it more than my Rezound. Now it's just BRILLIANT!
