Yeah, I see no downside compared to the regular S4 other than the camera downgrade and the thickness/heaviness.

Had I know about the S4 active in the first place, I would have held out and not get the S4. I would have been perfectly fine with the 8 megapixel camera. Especially since the upgrade price out here is the same.

I have a DSLR anyway, plus the camera looks good still,looks great underwater. Plus a little extra weight is worth it. I just hope Rogers gets it.

I sometimes wonder if the Galaxy S5 ( or whatever they call it), will geta ton of variants like the S4:
(S600, Octa, Octa-LTE, Dual-Sim, Zoom, Active, Mini, LTE-A S800, and so on..)
This, in my opition at least, really 'distorts' your vision, about what you know about the device. Especially, when some of the variants don't even have similar, or even the same specs:Just something to make the brand-name even 'bigger'.

Honestly, i think they should have made the Active the regular version and then have the mini for people who want something cheaper and that's it.

In my opinion: It would of been better if there were just two versions: The regular and the Active.
The Active would been good as the stand alone S4, but had a worse screen (depending on the users taste, it was TFT.) And 8MP instead of 13MP.
If they did only nave the active as the regular, but added the 13MP, the sensor may of made the device thicker. Maybe.
It would of been okay with two versions. Or Ave the other devices as a separate galaxy device, not part of the S4 Branch.

The S4 active would have been even more awesome with an IPS display and I think that the active should have been the S4

It shouldn't. They should of scrapped it, or made it a separate Galaxy Device.
But realistic ly, it has no real purpose to exist.
