Thoughts after using Bionic plus pictures

Speaking of quad scores from yesterday in this thread, just watch bworleys quadrant bench test on 4G just now and it snagged a 2407. Not too shabby at all.

Well, getting back on topic....

I know this is minor but can you please tell me how the "copy/paste" works in the browser? Is it the two little indicators that you slide to the beginning and the end of the text to be copied or is it the dreadful Motorola "slide ur far finger over text that you can not see anymore due to said fat finger" method?

Thanks! This was the only good thing going from a dx to the thunderbolt. Better copy/paste.

I'd like to know this as well. This was one of the reasons why I chose HTC over Motorola when I first got my Droid.

Why does everyone keep talking about this phones as if it's so revolutionary? It's nothing special. The design is hideous, as is the packaging. I don't understand why Verizon keeps trying to market the Droid phones to SiFi nerds with no sense of taste. It's basically a glorified Droid X2 with LTE, a front facing camera, and just as ugly design.

If you are looking for people who dislike the bionic and its form factor you are probably in the wrong forum. You are more than entitled to your own opinion but the majority of us in this bionic forum are here because we like the bionic and its design. To each his own.

Yet if the Bionic shows great scores then everyone gets a hard on and posts them all over the internet. Am I right? My point is - you can't say benchmarks aren't important, because if they weren't then we wouldn't be discussing them in the first place would we? If real world performance is the most important then why are benchmark test posts flooded all over the Android blogosphere.

Sorry. i usually dont bother responding to post like yours, but i could not resist...

Bplewis already told you the OBVIOUS flaws with Quadrant.
its pure BS to say that "it must be important because people talk about it"
Quadrant as they say is outdated. People maybe talking about it because it was more prevalent while back.

What if i bring u another benchmark where Bionic scored higher? i mean significantly higher than SGSII? how does your logic work then? will you say the same thing you said about to Bionic to SGSII. I dont see anyone getting a hard on and posting all over the internet. only one with a hard on is you with the quadrant score.

lol.

oh yea. go look up OMAP4 vs Exynos benchmark testings. They all say OMAP4 actually edges out Exynos slightly.

Not acceptable. Don't post in this thread/forum if this is going to be your attitude.

Here's my two cents on the pentils screen. I had a Motorola photon for 29 days. I went in with an open mind not even really hearing anything about pentile at all. The screen was just trippy. Some times I didn't notice it and sometimes it looked like lil bugs running around LOL. But it really bothered me during web browsing and especially during YouTube and Netflix. Now I was willing to keep it as it wasn't a deal breaker but I did notice it. Now I'm very interested in the bionic and am hoping the pentile screen has been tweaked to look better.

Was this the screen as it came out of the box or did you have a screen protector over it ? I've been quite annoyed at some screen protectors in the past due to something similar to what you describe.

I too hated the Pentile screen like everyone else when the X2 was released, but after using it more and comparing it to the Fascinate (which is still a Pentile matrix AMOLED screen) which is what my girlfriend has, I've come to like the X2's screen better, has more natural colors and not cartoonishly vivid like the AMOLED. Yes the Pentile pixels are noticeable, but Motorola could have improved the pixel layout to make it better. Even if it has the same Pentile screen as the X2, that's fine with me.

I had to drive my granddaughter from Phoenix to Washington state. Being 14, she was texting the whole 1500 miles. I have OG Droid and she had a new HTC Thunbderbolt. I have driven to California probably 100 times and I never had a reason to test the reception. About half way to LA, in the middle of nowhere, she said "Isn't there any reception out here??" She would know because she was sending or receiving texts constantly. I hauled out my OG Droid and had two bars and great reception. Motorola is the best!

I want to say thanks to everyone for all the input etc. I am generally quiet been watching the bionic forums for roughly 6 weeks and am convinced the bionic is absolutly everything I want in a phone . Thanks Techies and Mods and every day Joes for all the info. Thursday the 8th my next phone is the BIONIC :p

No screen protector. Straight out of the box. Honestly to me the worst part was in the notification bar. It was very difficult to read how much service I had. Veryr very pixelated.

I'd like to think Motorola tweaked the screen on the Bionic to make the pixels less noticeable. Without seeing it in person it's hard to say. I can't wait to get my hands on one. Even if the screen ends up sucking big time, at least I won't have to live with the suspense.
