My thoughts is this if you need the tethering a couple times a month, then just using your phone is ok. However if you are using it daily for hours at a time..pay the 15 bucks. How many other companies offer phone service and tethering for 50 bucks a month?

I totally agree with this.
It's an emergency or short term internet, don't use it as your primary internet source.
