Agreed. I honestly am not having the plaguing battery issues that most people seem to be reporting. Maybe this is a case of only those who are having a poor experience chiming.
First of all, I do not like to jump to conclusions about battery performance since there are many variables involved. Data coverage, apps installed/used, screen settings (brightness)... the list goes on. One person may call "moderate" use something completely different than the next person.
Secondly, I have only had the device for a bit over one day now so it is extremely hard to gauge normal daily performance when most users have only had the device for 24 -36 hours.
I am with you though!! Once root methods become available we will be able to take proactive measures to increase battery performance
Exactly!
How can anyone with this phone have any idea of how normal use effects the battery, the phone has only been out for 24 hours? I haven't kept my hands off of mine. It you're using ANY smart phone heavily, the battery will be gone in a matter of hours. Carry an extra battery.
If HTC would have used a larger battery, you same people would complain about size. A little prospective: The battery in this phone is less than 1 cubic inch in size.
Exactly.... can we start an Exactly Thread
how can you comment on a phones battery life after using it for a half of a day. If you bought the phone at 9:00am and charged it for a good 6-9 hours. You really didn't have much time testing everything out Or give it a few good long charges. Yes lithium batteries don't hold a memory charge but when they have been sitting for a while not being used (in the box) they need at least two days to get them conditioned again.

I did a Tango call with the wife, texted all morning, surfed the net to setup my bookmarks, took some pics. When I left for the gym basically playing with it for 4 hours the HTC battery widget had me at 72% remaining. I have GPS off while I'm at work, have my screen at 25%, turned off all of the little vibration feedback crap, screensaver comes on at 1 minute, I still get email push, and I grabbed a few things from the Android Market in that 4 hour time frame.
