Thunderbolt Review (Coming Soon)

Ugghh. I hate extended batteries that add bulk to the phone. I rock the extended battery on my droid x and its great. Barely noticable. A co worker has the extended battery on his evo though and its hideous. Reminds me of a phone I'd carry 10 years ago.

BMX said there would be a toggle so I have to assume its in there somewhere.
Yeah, he said that some of the pre-production phones had the toggle and some didn't. But that the retail phone would have one. We'll see.

I'm not sure I would need an extended life battery. I have a charger at home, in my car and at my desk @ work. Hopefully I'll be covered. $50 for 2750 mAh isn't too bad though.

When I buy extended batteries that are large enough to require another back, I prefer OEM. I've been burnt in the past with batteries that were okay but backs that were poor-quality and poor-fitting.

Yeah I agree. The Mugen was great tho. The back fits perfect and has that rubberized feel tnat the OEM has. That Seido extended battery sucked for exactly the reason you say: the back was crap and didn't seat perfectly and allowed dust in and would get hung up sometimes when pulling out of my pocket.

I have a feeling that those 2750mAh HTC batteries will not be available right away. I've also got a feeling that they won't be $50 when they become available. The HTC site doesn't even have them available yet. And... they are $69 I think. The site I pre-ordered the HTC 2750 from (mobilecity.com) doesn't have them yet either (hence "pre-order") but they're selling them for $54, no tax and free shipping.

Yeah I'm hoping that's enough for me too. I use the car charger on the way to/from work and during lunch and I have a charger at work too. I may have to reclaim it though. Now that I've gotten everyone at work to get android phones its kinda become the community charger.

it's probably too early to tell, but any indication as to whether we'll have to bump charge the battery?

Good point. We don't know if the review device from the OP has the shipping firmware. My guess is no. I recall other phone releases where the OS revisions were out of date on the review units.

I like that the 1600mah by seidio has an oem fit, but thats barely an upgrade over stock. I wish they would make some kind of compromise to like a 1900 or 2000 that still fit like oem. I would never order one of those huge backs.

I can't say if the version I got is final, although Verizon got these this morning so I am guessing it is final. Perhaps a firmware upgrade on Thursday?

Rubytuesday... what do you think of the Bolt overall so far??? Now that you've had a little time to play with it, would you buy the Bolt or are you one of those that would wait to see what the Bionic is all about?

+1, what do you think of it?

Overall I really love it. However, a bit disappointed at the battery. Hopefully tomorrow I will give it real world use and be able to more comment more after tweaking for better battery life. Stay tuned.

Ugh, that's going to break this phone. *******it.

I'm horrified of the battery life that I am most likely going to have to deal with on this phone... coming from using a LG Voyager that will last about 3 months on a charge.

Less battery life = frequent charging that will result in a ruined battery?

Well the way I look at it my Droid 2 won't last me a whole day anyways so battery life isnt anything big to me haha
