Thunderbolt Thursday Waiting Room HERE!

Stopped in my local VZW tonight and talked to a girl I had talked to there a few weeks ago. She is just as excited about the Bolt as I am. She's off tomorrow but has to be in for a meeting so she is going to meet me at opening. Apparently they have plenty, but I'm not taking any chances. I'd rather give her the commission anyway, since she and I talked at length the last time and all I ended up buying was a case for my (at the time) Incredible.

A friend of mine also wants a Bolt, so I may let him get the one I have reserved at Best Buy.

EDIT: The phone seemed plenty loud, and this was at a VZW in a mall. Could hear the ringtones from across the counter loud and clear. The battery was at around 80% after an hour, but she said that was constant use. Not too shabby. That equates to 5 hours of use without putting it down. It was also MUCH lighter than expected. It's lighter than the EVO or the Inspire in my opinion.

For those that asked, there is no restriction to charging the phone to your account if your payment history is good. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Pardon my ignorance but I'm a bit confused about something. I realize this is a 4g phone but will it only run on 4g? Or will it switch between that and 3g depending on coverage?

I ask because I'm surprised (but definitely not complaining) about the price of the unlimited LTE. I'm just wondering if it switches or only runs at one speed.

It'll do 4g, 3G, and 1x

THIS MUST HAPPEN

Oh... trust me, i let go of the wheel and smacked her on the back of the arm... (she's 20 btw, not child abuse). She said "OMG mom, you look like you are gonna cry... it is JUST a phone".
I explained very nicely (NOT) that it is a THUNDERBOLT. not a phone. I never use the phone... ;)

I see a lot of people are saying it's worth it to wait for a dual core device, but the only comparable device I know of that's on the (near) horizon is the Droid Bionic, which has the awful Motoblur.

So, what would you pick - the better processor, or the better UI?

Is anyone planning on waiting for the Bionic for the better processor? Or getting the Bolt since they don't want to deal with Blur?

Having owned a Droid X, I have my suspicions that the Bionic will be that much faster than the Thunderbolt. The Droid X was a VERY slow, laggy phone, and that was mostly because of Blur. I hear it's gotten better since I gleefully kicked it to the curb. Not only that, but Blur is something you work around, Sense is something that you work WITH. Sense>Blur by a longshot (IMO)

That's what I've heard -- despite the Bionic's (slightly) better specs, it might not perform better than the Bolt.

But I've heard a lot of people say plainly, "I'm waiting for a dual core device." I guess I'm not sure if I should be waiting outside at the VZ store tomorrow morning, or sit on my hands for another month or two. :p

Man, I'm still going back and forth between the idea of 1 year or 2 year contract. I let my mom know about my plan if I decide to go to a 2 year, but still, her upgrade is in October and I can't see wanting to get a new phone in October already so she may have to put up with her current phone until March. But then again I put up with my Storm from October until now...

I am getting mine at Best Buy because my OG droid has been broken 3 times and I will be getting 6 hundo credit towards buying one off contract. So I am only spending 150 and DONT have to use an upgrade :)

I've got my buddy at the VZW store charging one up for me first thing when he gets in, and I'll be there at about 10:30 to pick it up.

Peace out Storm 1, hello 1 year TB contract :)

I don't know if it's been mentioned (don't kill me if it has) but the HTC Sense website is back up, but with no reference to the TB. I wonder if it will be able to access it in the future?

UGH BB called and told me my appointment is a 1. Weak! If i was at my store in AZ i could get mines before the store opened. Very disappointed I'll have to read you guys review for a few hours while i wait for 1 to get here. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve

can't decide if I should buy online from VZW so I can get it on Friday morning, or save $110+tax and get it from Amazon, but wait until Monday.... arghhh!! I'm also terrified that buying through Amazon will kill my talk and text + data promo. Then it definitely not be worth the $110 in savings.
