Time to return your HTC View; HTC Puccini is coming out

Does anyone know if you can tether an android tablet (such as the HTC View) to an android phone (such as the HTC Evo 3d)? Salesman at the sprint store said he didn't think any of the tethering apps could dod this. Appreciate your help as i am thinking of converting to Android and thinking about buying these devices. Thanks

Do it all the time... I use the hotspot on my EVO and WiFi on the View.

I am excited about the Puccini but not because I am interested in trading up. HTC having two (well, 3 sort of) tablets out in the field shows a commitment to the platform.

Portability is the key feature of the View and I love seeing the Puccini out because I think it means more continued support for the platform and the Scribe technology.

This depends on what you are using to create your hotspot.

If you're using an hotspot like those available on the stock phones, you will likely have no problem. They use an infrastructure mode which is compatible with most devices.

If you're using a hotspot that creates an ad hoc setup, then many tablet-level devices can have issues with tethering. There are some modifications that some devs have made to get devices to work through ad hoc setups when they wouldn't otherwise.

For what it's worth, I have successfully tethered both iPad and Acer Iconia through stock HotSpot apps.

See my post here re: tethering: http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-view-4g/123325-pdanet-view.html

The view /flyer are the fastest honeycomb tablets I've used compared to most dual cores. 7" i do find a bit small. I prefer the 7.7 samsung or the 8.2 xyboard as a better sized portable, but for the price you can get a view or flyer currently, nothing comes close! Htc needs to price competetively, these msrp along with the Jetstream are a complete joke. Shame, because they're great devices...

I have owned the View for a month now and I would only trade up if the Puccini were released on Sprint and had the Scribe technology. I haven't done much research on the new tablet because i have been extremely pleased with this tablet. As far as Sprint is concerned, I have no issues with their service either. I have to deal with Off again/on again 4G in my office but people who have Verizon or AT&T have the same issues. Furthermore. If the Puccini comes out on the Now Network and it rocks my world, I'll just have to trade in my Acer A500 and go HTC all the way. Evo 3d, Evo View 4G and Puccini. I can live with that
