time to try rooting my Tablet

I am going to try rooting my tablet this weekend, it hasn't been updated since 4.0.2. Are there any very easy step by step rooting guides that are still active? and anything that will help me resemble something more current??

I used twrp which worked fine. It's either on this site or XDA which has all the links to everything you require and the instructions.
