Actual time is eleven thirty four but the notification bar showed ten fifty nine. The world clock app show the correct time and the weather app show the correct time. Anyone else see this kind of behavior from the note 2?
Sent from Note 2. After going back and forth to the home screen a few times if finally resolved

Re: Time wrong in notification bar

It's off again. It's off 3 minutes as of now. It shows correctly when I look at the clock but not when I look at the notification bar

Re: Time wrong in notification bar

I hate when I can't trust my phone to do something as basic is show me the correct time. I rebooted the phone and for the moment the time is correct but it's only been going for a few minutes

Re: Time wrong in notification bar

who is your carrier? As far as I know the system time is sync'ed from the cell provider.

Verizon and my wife's note time was correct. Plus the clock app time was correct

Not trying to insult your intelligence since you have obviously have a lot of posts. But do your Date & Time settings look something like below (other than being Verizon)? If not, make sure you have Automatic set. If that doesn't work, reboot if you haven't already. If THAT doesn't work, there are other issues at play that are beyond my understanding.

Yes it's set correctly and had worked correctly since launch day. No offense taken

Have you installed any new apps lately? I had the same problem after the smooth calendar app updated a few weeks ago. I uninstalled the app and all was good again.

Re: Time wrong in notification bar

Problem back today. Verizon is sending a sim card. We'll see if that fixes it but I'm not confident. For grins I cleared cache

If the sum doesn't fix it, maybe a reset is in order.

Re: Time wrong in notification bar

Looks like I found the problem. I will post more on it later, as soon as I am certain, but I'll let the cat out of the bag a little bit: I followed the advice on a thread regarding how to stop "wifi" from showing in notifications...

Re: Time wrong in notification bar

OK--here is the solution. By following someone's tip of force stopping the wifi notifcation (long press on wifi, hit app info, force stop), I had unwittingly screwed up the phone's ability to display the correct time if the screen remains on. The only way I could get the time to update IN THE STATUS BAR, was to either blank the screen, or go into settings>Date & time>uncheck & check Automatic date and time. Moral of the story? Don't always do what others suggest for solving some little problem. Sometimes you just create larger, TIME WASTING ones.

The reason I said yesterday that I had no time issues with my phone for much of the day yesterday, was that I had rebooted the phone in the morning after seeing the issue, and I DIDN'T force stop the wifi notification app.

Here's the deal: The top-right tiny clock is completely stuck, and it says 10:44am no matter what, but even the home screen (the lock screen, before you unlock your phone) clock is correct. The two don't match. Yes, it is as hilarious and sad as it sounds. It is definitely a UI being stuck issue, not failure to sync with servers issue. This is UNAMBIGUOUSLY an ANDROID bug and it pains me to see that people don't realize it and are trying to pin it on other issues.

Edit: Hilarious. The top-right clock jumps to the real time every time I switch orientation (portrait/landscape). It then stays on that time indefinitely until I switch orientation again. It is currently stuck permanently at 11:33am and will stay this way until I switch orientations again. So I have to switch orientations every time I want to check the time (or go back to the lock screen). Just hilarious. My phone is not rooted in any way

Can confirm I'm seeing identical symptoms

Time shows incorrect in the notification area (Top Left) It actually shows the last time I had locked my Phone. Once I unlock the time is fixed to the correct one.

Re: I am seeing the same problem in my Nokia 6.1 Plus with Android Pie.

This is happening on my Nokia 6.1 Plus running Pie.

I had the same problem on my Lenovo-TB-7304 with Android 7.0 until I switched battery optimisation off for the System UI.
Go to Settings -> Battery -> Battery Optimisation -> All Apps -> System UI and change to Not optimised.
