Tired of waiting so I rooted

We shouldn't have to keep putting up with resets after we paid our money. I got tired of waiting so I rooted. Now running DasBamf 3.0 and I must say IT IS FREAKING AMAZING!!! I am also overclocked to 1.594GHZ. Holy Sense 3.0 Batman.

Anyone else rooting because of no update?[/QUOTE

Do you have a website or instructions that you followed?

Yes, you tube and Android central.

The only really issue i have is poor battery life. If i wanted root because of this, which ROM should I choose.

haha! I did as well. I told myself I was going to root if the update didn't come out by June 30th. Right now I am running stock Gingerbread 2.3.4 overclocked to 1.4ghz and absolutely loving it!

So I have my new TB coming. I have spent an enormous amount of time reading through these forums trying to determine how I want to configure the phone as well as to root or not root, flash a different rom etc.

It seems to me that the rooting is going to be a necessity for me. Question is whether or not I update the ROM?

Here are the list of things that will be important to me:
No reboots and simple stable interface
Improve battery life
Quality phone performance + 4G stability (will need to talk and interface data at same time).
Don't want to have to overclock or undervolt unless absolutely necessary
Tether (using unlimited data plan)
Skype w/video
ability to view and simple modify office docs (word, excel, PP)
ability to pull several email accounts seemlessl.

I am sure there will be more once I get the phone. Since this is my first smart phone will expand as my experience broadens.

I should note that I am comfortable following direction and dealing with more complex processes.

Comments/suggestions appreciated.

Right now BAMF with Sense 3.0 seems to do everythign you need on the list and so does CyanogenMOD 7.1 RC 1. Some people are havign 4G issues with CyanogenMOD, but mine works fine so I guess it depends. The only thing I think that isn't covered is Skype calling with Video. Might be a modded version of the app that lets you do it.

rooted yesterday and flashed BAMF 3.0, using mr2 radio
I'll try the mr2.5, just to see if there's a difference with this ROM later today.

got tired of waiting for the OTA. Happy as heck right now!

I'm runnning Das Bamf Ginger 3 with MR 2.5 and its the best I have run so far, very stable. I am overclocked at 1.5. Only thing I miss is the free version of Quickoffice. Anyone know where u can get it?
