Tmo GS5 extremely intermittent fingerprint sensor, keyboard not popping up on lock screen?

This began very recently. When I try to unlock my phone, 80% of the time, the fingerprint sensor acts like there isn't even a finger there. Nothing happens when I swipe over it. (Oddly, it seems to sometimes work when I open the camera and then return to the lock screen.) When I go to enter the backup password, the keyboard just doesn't show up at all. When I do manage to unlock the phone, the keyboard suddenly works without issue, and then goes back to not functioning when I lock the phone. I have tried clearing the cache and data of both the keyboard and the fingerprints app and nothing has worked. For now I've set my security to none but I can't keep it like that forever. What's the issue?!

Have exactly the same issue here, only just started happening (last week or so). Do you think it's a recent update that's causing it?

Did you manage to solve it?
