Even if that is the case, it's a manufacture defect. You can always get the phone replaced.
You are right, T-mobile give you 30 days.

14 to return, 30 to exchange, and one year warranty.thep
nestly had worse luck getting phones later. I tried it with the note 3, which I got a little more than a month after it came out and had went through 2 returns before I got a good one. The s3 and s4 I bought both on release day and they've been fine

Do you guys worry that the first batch may have problems?
From their website:
" If you recently purchased a new T-Mobile phone
*
You have 14 calendar days for discounted purchases with an annual plan at retail stores (30 in CA), 20 calendar days for online purchases via t-mobile.com, and 30 calendar days for full price purchases from the date of purchase, to return purchased equipment to the point of purchase."
I paid for my S4 with part cash & the rest on a debit card, when I returned the phone after 3 weeks the first store said all returns are limited to14 days, so I printed out the policy and went back. I got a different clerk who knew the policy & didn't need to see the printout. Because of the amount they wouldn't refund the money immediately, but I'm getting a deposit can to my debit card or a check in the mail (the confirmation text said one thing, the store said another).
tldr version: for max return period, pay in full at store
Ah, the old "you can get it fast, or you can get it stable. Choose one" problem.
I went into a T-Mobile today and they told my that they couldn't sell the phone till Thursday. I called around and other stores are selling it tomorrow. You got to remember that if you are here reading about a phone, you know more than the people working there.
