To Airave or not to Airave...

So I just got off the phone with Sprint again, and still no dice for me.

I can't get the airave + waved fee because -- get this -- I am still inside my 30 days... Policy is to not give free airave's and service for people in their 30 days.

Huh??

The rep was quite apologetic -- and he first tried to get the device for me before having the policy read to him. I find this bizarre. They would rather have me cancel the 5 lines of evo service. Strange.

I guess I'm going to visit the competition tonight & see what I can arrange.

What a bummer...

Are you speaking to account services or retention? I'm w/in my 30 day as well and account services said call them back in 90 days and they'll hook me up with one--what a joke. Going to try retention later to see if i have any luck.

I think I was talking to retention. I selected the cancel service option from the AVS, so presumably I went right there.

Seems kind of an insane policy. Still not sure what I'm going to do. I don't want to jettison Sprint & the EVOs, but if this is how they provide service BEFORE my 30 days are up...

exactly! I was surprised that they're not making more of an effort to appease NEW customers--i even mentioned that i had sprint for about 3 yrs before going to att and that's when they offered that weak after 90 day deal...like i want to use a brick for the next 3 months...funny thing is att works the best out of all service providers in my buidling

good luck...i'll update here after i try with retention.

tried again...i guess retentions is the same as account services. basically they wanted to send me the free airave, but the "system won't let them"...supposedly only works for ppl who had sprint for more than 90 days. supervisor said there's no way around it and wouldn't even offer some sort of compensation if I ordered it....weak.

update: i emailed customer service last fri. complaining about the 90 day rule. got an email today and then a call from account services...they ordered me an airave for $5.64, credited me for same amount and waived the monthly recurring fee. they charged me for overnight shipping, but credited me for the same amount as well. Looks like they can get around the "90 day rule" after all. I'm waiting for the confirmation email with tracking so lets see what happens.
