To all the haters..... you suck!

I like the happy medium between naively calling it perfect and raging on what a piece of crap it is. Reality is in the middle somewhere. Certainly closer to perfect than crap though.

The N7 is a great tablet. The reviews of it haven't been off. There are defective units out there, sure, and that's unfortunate. But it happens every time new technology launches. That's all there is to it. The sad part is that the extreme minority that is having problems is VERY vocal (judging by this forum), and they are helping harm the reputation of what is unquestionably the best low-priced tablet ever built (and simply one of the best tablets out there, period)..not to mention the image of the Android operating system in general. It's really a shame.

I hope people understand that these problems are likely temporary, as Google will probably fix the issues they are encountering. Further, I'd to see folks get through their heads that dealing with minor defects is the price we almost always pay for choosing to become "early adopters" of new technology. Period. That said, the stain on the Android image that they are helping to create will last a long time, and will be something we will have to deal with well after all the minor issues with the Nexus 7 have been addressed. We've waited a long time for a tablet of this quality to come out, and it is so unfortunate that what people will remember if all this freaking out continues is the few problems it had at launch..and not all the amazing things it has brought to the table.

Don't forget, haters, that with every comment you feed the iTrolls what they've been waiting and hoping for. You might consider just being patient, taking a deep breath, and then just hanging tight until Google makes things right for you. I think they will.

And my family has had four Nexus 7s in hand. All as perfect as you could hope for. My experience is the norm..those with defects, as much as I sympathize with you, represent the outliers.

The Nexus 7 has the worst quality build of any tablet I've owned. Ever. And please stop calling it early adopter, new technology, blah blah blah. There are plenty of 7" tablets on the market with zero build quality problems compared to this piece of junk.

I love the tablet but I'm on my 20th defective one now. I think I said at my 10th I was giving up but hey, maybe Google will wake up if people keep sending the crap back in excessive extreme out of total proportion numbers.

as I said in another th read these people who have these ridiculous amount of problems always seem to encounter them in increments of 10 . it's never 9 or 11 or 13 it's always either 10 or 20

Its great if you don't notice the defects. There is backlight bleed on yours op, I guarantee it. Screen flicker, weird horizontal line artifact on mine that pops up sometimes, and screen lift.

You can't assume every unit is defective just because of reports you read on forums or because of your own experience. You got a dud, there are those of us with a perfect device. I hope you get it worked out and get a good unit because when they are problem free they are awesome, but to speak in such general terms doesn't really help your cause.

Scan and show me 20 receipts, and I'll buy the 21st for you. Until then, I call BS :)

People, quit whining. If you want a terrible tablet with bad build quality, and absolutely no dev support, go get an ainol novo7 basic. That was my first tablet.

Speakers

...the only thing I would like to have seen was stronger audio...the audio is a bit weak, but still acceptable.

I read in a review that the audio from the speaker will sound a little richer if you lay the tablet down flat. This is my first ever tablet so I have nothing to compare.

Bud, I'll tell you right now, if you're truly on your 20th tablet, the problem doesn't lie with Google or Asus....there's a deeper issue here. It's just that simple. Go looking for a problem, and you'll always find one.

Four of these tablets have been purchased by my family. Two were pre orders, and two came in the 2nd batch. Two 8 GB and two 16 GB. I inspected each one in a way that could be called compulsive. The only problem of any kind was screen rise of maybe a 1/4 of a millimeter on the first one we received. It was truly so minor that you couldn't see it from further than an inch away..it's not worth returning a product for something like that. Outside of that issue, all the units were as perfect as could be. Not one dead pixel, no back light bleed, beautiful and accurately colored displays, no ghosting. Nothing. I'm 32, and have been part of the technology boom since the start in the 1980's..If there were any other defects with these devices, I would have seen them.

It's my guess that problems of the minor kind mentioned above, whether real or in your head, are what have caused you to allegedly return 20 units. If you really have. At the end of the day, you remind me of a dude that says he can't get why 20 girls in a row have broken up with him, seeing as he obviously isn't doing anything wrong. In a case like that, he has well exceeded simple chance or "bad luck." The problem is with him, not the girls. No way you got 20 "defective" devices in a row, man. It's not possible.

It stinks like BS in here. The sad part of this post is that you insult peoples intelligence by hoping they think you are on a 10th device. The only one you're fooling is yourself. I wont even say nice try because you failed miserably even as a troll. I'm with Jerry, scan and show us 10 receipts.
