You do realize you can unroot the phone in that event. If the phone doesn't boot at all to where you can unroot they would never know it because they would have to start the phone to see it!!!
I'm still testing, but it's predicting 20 hours of battery on a 100% charge. We'll see but if that's the case, I'll never look back.
I found in VZW Forum a reply from Verizon about Dinc getting Froyo

I most definitely understand the frustration of now knowing when the 2.2 update is going to be available. However at this time that information is not available to us. Once we get information as to when the update for the Incredible is available, we will post it. Hope this helps!

I'm so glad I rooted and didn't wait. What a finely tuned piece of machinery I have now. And I get to try everything else new that comes out before it's available from VZW.
I understand alot of your apprehensions, however, I am a base consumer, not a dev or a hardcore tweaker and a still was able to root easily with a little reading Thanks to alot of the fine folks on here. If you're tired of waiting and not held up by corporate exchange limitations, go for it. If you don't get it right, there is still ways to get it back to stock. Live a little.

I predict Froyo will be released for the Incredible BEFORE the end of 2011. You heard it here first!
Unrevoked forever + 8/1 leak + 2.15 radio = pure goodness. Why wait on Verizon? I keep thinking I'll try another rom, but everything works pretty much perfectly as-is. That new kernel that is supposed to improve battery life looks interesting though...
Yeah I gave up waiting on Verizon or whoever else is responsible a long time ago way before I swapped to this phone. Right now all my changes have made this phone almost perfect! Still trying out the newer King kernels and so far they are pretty good!

I'm waiting for an appropriate fix to call quality and from what I read, the radio/froyo update hasn't helped much if at all.
Hoping that VzW/HTC has/is compiled/ing revised software that help.

Not 100% sure I have ever had "call quality" issue. The only issues i have related to call quality is when i'm trying to talk to my 6 year old on the other end. He tends to talk like he has marbles in his mouth while he's on the phone.
With that said, the radio update did not do anything to change my (already quite good) call quality.
