S-OFF stock Froyo from OTA.

So far everything seems pretty good. Nothing mind blowing, but need to test more. Basically the browser seems a little faster and battery life is pretty good.

I did notice that my camera quality seems off. Comparing it to before and a stock 2.1 incredible the default settings seem more washed out for some reason.

So i finally received my Froyo update from verizon this morning and now sense wont even load correctly, its constantly force closing. I cant even get to any settings on the phone, just a loop of trying to load and force closing. Anyone have any ideas what went wrong?

I tried it again as well when I was home and connected to Wi-Fi. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but it worked! Glad to not have to wait anymore...

I woke up to glorious Froyo this morning. Everything seems to work fine. As mentioned by many members before, the issues some people are having is probably being caused by incompatible apps. I purposely did not download any as I wanted to wait for the update.

Well, I still didn't receice my update on my DINC and now I'm reading that it will go on till next week? Is that a sure thing or what's going on with that? I'm started to get really frustrated and I don't want to use the update.zip file because of all the problems I'm reading about! What do you all think?

Waiting for Froyo is nonsense when we got a Froyo same official version OTA Link Update.zip file, I found more people running in to problems from theirs OTA updates than the manual Update, also is know that several apps have issues with Froyo this is normal in any OS Upgrade, unistalling those Apps that are giving you hard time, then go to the market and look if under Froyo OS are available, though some developer have to updates theirs Apps in order to work with Froyo. I dont have a single trouble with my manual Update.

I just got mine, and its pissing me off. All my apps just keep running even after shutting them down. they restart on their own, even the apps that were installed with the updates. its getting pretty annoying. Im glad I got the update...but its pissing me off big time right now.

Well it's so awesome that the changing the date method finally worked. So far so good. It downloaded the file withing a couple of minutes and installed fast without problems. One thing though is that it comes with a lot of junk preloaded such as amazon,3g mobile hotspot... it feels like at the 93.7mb file 50 of it was junk stuffs. Overall, the positive points I've found are: a little bit faster, text message app is better looking and loads threads faster (I have some threads of over 600 texts in it), the browser is a hit and miss because it seems faster but on pages with flash that makes the browser a little bit sluggish... overall a pretty good update. There are not a whole lot of changes but some minor tweaks. One thing though is that it feels like it needs to get more tweaks to make it better. The battery life so far doesn't look great but we'll see at the end of the day.

Got the update at midnight last night.

Got mine this morning still don't see an up grade for the camera or maybe I'm sure what to look for. There is nothing about 720.

Ok, here's the dealio. There is no upgrade to the camera, what you have now is the ability to use the buttons from a portrait mode. The buttons do a little spin it is actually really cool. Before the buttons would stay landscape.

The 720 applies to the video resolution when shooting video.

Oh and I run Task Manager and it is killing 13-14 apps at a time, so I didn't want to uninstall it....so we will see.

Oh and the battery is at 71% today at 3:34pm pacific with moderate usage and I took it off the charger this morning and did NOT bump charge on purpose to see where it would take me. Normally, with a bump I would be at about 50% by 5pm, so this is looking good so far. I don't think I'll see 50% at 5pm today. Cool. That's my $.02 since that is all I have in my pocket today, kinda glad I held out on the extended battery....but then again with an extended it would be EVEN better, right?

From the beginning, Verizon has been saying, and many people here repeating, that there is no order ... not purchase date, not geographic location. It is totally random. Or, pseudo-random.

The effectively put all of our IMEI numbers in an electronic "hat" and chose a certain number a day, so yes it was random ;-)
