On a side note, don't feel too bad, I updated my co-workers HTC Hero on nTelos to 2.1 Friday last week using my computer and his USB cable, no "over the air" update. So don't be too impatient or angry, we'll get it when its right, unless you want a "brick" like a buddy of mine got on the first 2.2 update for his Evo on Sprint for 2 weeks.

Just to remind everyone, todays "supposed" update was a rumor, and one of the "somebody told us" variety. Don't get your hopes up, and don't expect froyo today. If you don't expect it and it doesn't come, big deal. If you don't expect it and it does come, woohoo.

I'm quite annoyed how Verizon is being so lame regarding Froyo. The worst of it is that we keep getting general time frames or dates, some of which have been corroborated by CSRs, yet those days come and go with no OTA. I'm tempted to call Verizon and tell them I want to return my phone and cancel my contract, as I was under the impression that I would have Froyo by now. I bet if a number of us called to complain in that fashion, the news would definitely make it up the chains at VZW.

The strange thing about that article is that he said HTC announced August 18th. Unless every one of the members of the 3 boards I follow are blind, this is a straight forward lie.

Let's make sure any discussion in this thread is with the stock OTA 2.2 and not the rooted 2.2
