Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

My phone still says my system is currently up to date. South Bend, IN.

Patches already said there probably isn't going to be a rollout today, and I'm inclined to believe him. He has pretty much been on the spot for VZW updates with the storm on Crackberry, so his opinion carries some weight. We'll probably be waiting on an official OTA for a while longer.

Usually they only put out 1,000 the first few days, then the amount of people who will get it increases every few days. So just watch out for someone to get it and make it available for all.

My girlfriend got Froyo on her Motorola last week and I was... less than flabbergasted. While it will have some neat updates, it doesn't change my happiness with how the phone works whether it has 2.2 or 2.1. What's disconcerting is the amount of mental anguish that I'm seeing on these threads about something as trivial as a software update for a phone!

I just talked to a guy at a vzw kiosk in a mall and he said all android central members will be receiving the update at 420 est... then the rest of the world will receive it in alphabetical order.

Still nothing in Pittsburgh, PA.

Considering rooting my phone now... I'm a video/photo guy and I really want 720p recording and better camera versatility. I'm tired of waiting.

Now to figure out this whole rooting thing... (I'm an Apple guy, but I hate AT&T and am a fan of Android as well [is that even socially acceptable?]. I love my DInc though, but I'm a n00b to all of it still. I'm sure my tech savvy skills and research will help though :D )

Yeah i completely agree with this comment. I'm already running a froyo rom as we speak and though it isn't the official its not like i'm running a brand new phone or anything. Talked to a few people who got it for their original droid last week and they said the only thing they noticed was a slight improvement on battery life and maybe a moderate increase in speed. It does come with some other programs and stuff but simmer down people it will come. The crazy high hopes for an incredible new experience with 2.2 will probably have you disappointed.

I agree for the most part, its an awesome phone now, it will be an awesome phone after the update.

The reason I am excited is because I am waiting for Flash support. I bought a Pre Plus because webos was supposedly going to get Flash before any other mobile platform, that obviously didn't happen. I moved to the Droid Incredible because it is an awesome phone. Flash will only sweeten the deal.

Amazing what Ben Parr at Mashable could start. Says a lot about blogs vs journalism. I'm putting a salt shaker next to my monitor so I can take some with every story.

You guys think you have it bad, I'm currently a BlackBerry user, so I probably won't ever get the Froyo update!

Nice. I see you got your feelings hurt. Sorry man.

I love your "pro tips", keep them coming. I wont continue the conversation because I obviously hurt your feelings and now you have to assert yourself.

Have a wonderful day.

Ninja don't have feelings.

So, my new DInc is scheduled to arrive tomorrow...

wonder if it'll have FroYo too... probably not, but hey.it's a thought.

I bet if you go into your carrier and tell them you want a phone now, or you will go and get an Iphone, they will upgrade you today.

Note; This won't work if you are on AT&T now

Bloggers v. Journalists

Journalists are fired when they don't confirm a story. Bloggers usually aren't.
