if you're gonna root, do it now before the OTA. it's supposedly closing whatever backdoor unrevoked used, so they'll have to re-find root with the OTA froyo. you have about a week to make up your mind before the new OS starts rolling out, pending it passes

Yeah I saw that on their twitter a few days ago. I think they are actually suggesting people use the s-off. Not sure and don't quote me. It wouldn't surprise me if they close the door on us though!

I can pair but when I hit the button it dials the last # and doesn't initiate the voice dialer. That's my issue.

My Dinc connects on BT with no problems at all. However BT Voice Control is not present yet in Android, comes with Froyo.

Tried the ROOT....

Got errors just installing the SDK...

Then after that.... Had this Android ADB Interface in the device manager area when trying to install the usb drivers....

Things didnt look right.... so, I guess I wait and wait and wait....

Bluetooth-
I can usually get my BT to work if I go into BT settings, and then long tap the device its paired with. Then I toggle the check box off and on for media, and it works fine. Don't know if this can help anyone, but it works for me on stereo connections.

Y'know, I was really looking forward to this update. From what I've heard, froyo really addresses some minor issues that are on 2.1, along with some welcome additions, but it figures they aren't releasing it. Why don't all of these sites like Mashable calm down and stop jumping on the first rumor you hear? Sad that they got everyone's hopes up. IMO this is a major blow to their credibility. I'm new to this whole thing so I really don't want to root it atm, but after today.....it's tempting.....lol

Rumors make the media world go 'round... Technically they have until Christmas to release the update. ;-)

Except that, you know, it's still the best and most capable phone that Verizon has come out with. The Droid X and Droid 2 (even with Froyo) don't hold a candle to it.

Yes...Bluetooth voice dialing works flawlessly with my BlueAnt ST3 on Froyo.
