Agreed, root is pretty badass. I'd suggest it for anyone who's technically competent. If you need help, I suggest going to xda and reading.
Everyone who knows better does now.lol J/K if you wait on Verizon you will be waiting forever. Anyone who came from a BB should know that by now, they are in no hurry to get it moving to you guys. And they could care less how mad you all are getting because they know you will rejoice and everything is forgiven when they start pushing it out.
This statement is far from true. The reason bb took forever to get updates was ****ty OS builds from rim. They standardize their testing so that its streamline, but that means nothing if every build passes. They should be getting one more build to test soon for froyo on the incredible, and I hear its gonna be a shorter test window since previous builds have confirmed stability, with only small changes. So theyre checking for new bugs in the changes, and to make sure the bugs from whatever caused the last to fail are addressed and fixed. So shouldn't be long, that is...if this one passes. We'll see. In the mean time, root. VZW may be a money grubbing company, but they care about their network, they care about their phones and they generally care about their customers. I've seen VZW do way more to compensate a customer for an inconvenience than any other carrier would even think about doing.
How is it wrong....I didn't wait on Verizon and I'm running Froyo now? I will even add a perfectly running build. And have been for weeks. Humm......you may want to rethink your stance on that. I don't pretend to be "on the inside loop" or have any "inside knowledge" into Verizon, but I do know there were several builds that were finished certified working from RIM and supposedly now from HTC, and Verizon kicked them back due to bugs they deemed possible network issues, that ended up making it into the final builds anyway that were eventually ok'd.
In the end I don't give two flying ****s whose problem it is because the only one I deal with is Verizon. It's always simpler to pass the buck to someone else. Just sounds like people are just making their excuse for their jobs being needed if you ask me.......I'm enjoying Froyo have been for awhile no thanks to Verizon, HTC, the guy who cleans the bathrooms, or maybe the cop that pulled them over that morning........sheesh VZW employee much?
This is why people root, s-off, and cook. It's simpler to rely and participate in the community for support than a "streamlined" testing facility or with multi-million dollar companies. Will you have bugs sure that part of the testing phase. Do mom and pops want them no......so if you wait on Verizon you will be waiting for awhile because they aren't going to let you try the .1-.9 builds you get 1.0 only. Anyways.......
Thank You Qazme...If Skyraider 2.5.2 works PERFECTLY as everyone states why cant Verizon put out a build when one already exists?
It's wrong because you're drawing conclusions without all of the info that's available. You just said you don't know how it works, so in trying to explain. From what I've seen, both HTC and VZW have done s great job. Nothing best the mess with blackberries. And no, I'm not a VZW employee.
The whole reason I share what I know is to stop misinformation. It irks me more than anything.

VZW is rolling out lcd versions of the incredible, whatever stable build you have lacks hardware support for the lcd versions. That's why the last few failed, among other reasons.
And do we have sources on this information? And do we have any proof of S-LCD incredibles actually making it to boxes over the last 120 days they have been rumored to use them? Or is this where the latest batch of phones is?
HTC announced in like June or July that they'd be supplementing with s-lcd, Google it, that's how I found it. But my source is the change log for the test build stating that the new OS versions support lcd, but I guess just like the OS that was supposed to come out yesterday, you'll all just wait and see. Or get friends who will keep you in the know, that's what I did. I don't trust blogs any more than you all do.
