Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

My Inc connects to my alpine head unit without fail. Sorry people are having so many bluetooth issues.

Agreed, root is pretty badass. I'd suggest it for anyone who's technically competent. If you need help, I suggest going to xda and reading.

I finally gave up waiting for Froyo after today. Installed SkyRaider 2.5.2 using Unrevoked 3...hardest part was booting the phone into recovery mode.

The phone runs great now...and I finally have my flashlight app! And the rest of Froyo of course...

I've heard good things about skyraider 2.5.2, does everything work, even video camera?

Cyogenmod has a better following, but there have been complaints of app compatibility and things like that. I say try em both and you decide. Back up first. With nand as well as titanium. Pm me or add me on gchat (patches152) if you need help or have questions. If I don't know I have friends who do.

Everyone who knows better does now. :P lol J/K if you wait on Verizon you will be waiting forever. Anyone who came from a BB should know that by now, they are in no hurry to get it moving to you guys. And they could care less how mad you all are getting because they know you will rejoice and everything is forgiven when they start pushing it out.

This statement is far from true. The reason bb took forever to get updates was ****ty OS builds from rim. They standardize their testing so that its streamline, but that means nothing if every build passes. They should be getting one more build to test soon for froyo on the incredible, and I hear its gonna be a shorter test window since previous builds have confirmed stability, with only small changes. So theyre checking for new bugs in the changes, and to make sure the bugs from whatever caused the last to fail are addressed and fixed. So shouldn't be long, that is...if this one passes. We'll see. In the mean time, root. VZW may be a money grubbing company, but they care about their network, they care about their phones and they generally care about their customers. I've seen VZW do way more to compensate a customer for an inconvenience than any other carrier would even think about doing.

How is it wrong....I didn't wait on Verizon and I'm running Froyo now? Guess those sources didn't pop up from HTC or Google huh? I will even add a perfectly running build. And have been for weeks. Humm......you may want to rethink your stance on that. I don't pretend to be "on the inside loop" or have any "inside knowledge" into Verizon, but I do know there were several builds that were finished certified working from RIM and supposedly now from HTC, and Verizon kicked them back due to bugs they deemed possible network issues, that ended up making it into the final builds anyway that were eventually ok'd.

In the end I don't give two flying ****s whose problem it is because the only one I deal with is Verizon. It's always simpler to pass the buck to someone else. Just sounds like people are just making their excuse for their jobs being needed if you ask me.......I'm enjoying Froyo have been for awhile no thanks to Verizon, HTC, the guy who cleans the bathrooms, or maybe the cop that pulled them over that morning........sheesh VZW employee much?

This is why people root, s-off, and cook. It's simpler to rely and participate in the community for support than a "streamlined" testing facility or with multi-million dollar companies. Will you have bugs sure that part of the testing phase. Do mom and pops want them no......so if you wait on Verizon you will be waiting for awhile because they aren't going to let you try the .1-.9 builds you get 1.0 only. Anyways.......

Thank You Qazme...If Skyraider 2.5.2 works PERFECTLY as everyone states why cant Verizon put out a build when one already exists?

Well I understand there are things that have to meet Verizon "standards". And that is fine, meaning they will turn down something if for instance the power button menu has an additional option for instant reboot, that they don't want there. Things like that. Cause you know they did such a fine job testing and Verifing the 2.1 build for the Eris, it worked perfect.....that's a joke. We had silent call bugs on every phone running it, phone lock up's, slow downs, random crashed I can keep going. They also did a fine job on testing the 2.2 builds for the Droid it has issues too. Don't even get me started on the memory issues with BB's etc. But I understand to get things right it takes rigorous testing to make sure it's just right for the customers.

And this is why I root. I would rather rely on the really smart people we have out in this community that know what they are doing with radios, ROMs, and apps to provide me with a framework and solid understanding to advance my phone much more solidly, securely, and quickly than Verizon/AT&T/Sprint/T-Mobile or any other cell company on the face of this earth could every possibly do.

Am I happy they test and don't let the 'bad' build by? Sure I guess but I imagine HTC and Google don't push things to Verizon without it going through test too. So whose to blame Google? Nah I've got Froyo they wrote it! HTC? Nah I got Froyo they made the hardware specific parts to make it work on my phone! Or is it Verizon? Yeah....haven't gotten Froyo from them yet.

Root your phone folks it beats waiting on Verizon.....

It's wrong because you're drawing conclusions without all of the info that's available. You just said you don't know how it works, so in trying to explain. From what I've seen, both HTC and VZW have done s great job. Nothing best the mess with blackberries. And no, I'm not a VZW employee.

The whole reason I share what I know is to stop misinformation. It irks me more than anything.

trying to read code on a blog like s=a and n=m irks me

no doubt you and Qazme know a hell of alot more than me. Im a total noob, half this sh!t is Chinese to me and I am scared to root....but I am filled to the brim w/common sense, and it makes me ask if there are super stable froyo builds w/sense why doesnt big red have one?

What conclusion am I drawing without all the information? Who pushes updates to our phones again? Verizon I think right? So who are we waiting on for sending us an update? Verizon? And how am I as well as a lot of people running Froyo? It wasn't Verizon, our ROMs were made from sources from HTC and Google. So where does that finger point again on who we are waiting on.

And now explain to me how I'm misinforming by saying we are waiting on VZW? Was it you that said there is another build on the way for them to test??? Whoever said it implied that one had already been turned down. But the Version I've got which is a leaked build from HTC seems to work perfectly in every respect........I'm just speaking what I know. You can take it however you like.

VZW is rolling out lcd versions of the incredible, whatever stable build you have lacks hardware support for the lcd versions. That's why the last few failed, among other reasons.

And do we have sources on this information? And do we have any proof of S-LCD incredibles actually making it to boxes over the last 120 days they have been rumored to use them? Or is this where the latest batch of phones is?

And ok if that's true I could see why it would fail a test with a S-LCD enabled Incredible. So what would the other reasons be. The build I have works perfectly. So basically what you are telling me is Verizon, the provider, is turning down builds the manufacturer says work on the phone they build....ah humm. Yeah, in my opinion we are waiting on Verizon no doubt about it. I feel this discussion is only mudding the water here and my position on this subject is known. I appreciate the discussion this morning guys, good to see what other people think from time to time even if you don't agree with them.

HTC announced in like June or July that they'd be supplementing with s-lcd, Google it, that's how I found it. But my source is the change log for the test build stating that the new OS versions support lcd, but I guess just like the OS that was supposed to come out yesterday, you'll all just wait and see. Or get friends who will keep you in the know, that's what I did. I don't trust blogs any more than you all do.

Yeah I already knew that information. But I've seen a lot of people here and in person get the Incredible between 4/29/2010 up until a week ago and I have yet to actually see an S-LCD build. And I have to wonder how much of the news of supplementing production with a different screen was a face saver announcement saying, "hey we know we are falling behind but we are looking for alternatives", that way it keeps people wanting and waiting on Incredibles. One other thing to keep in mind about these builds to is that a lot of these devices are now sharing a lot of compartmentalization between devices. IE some of the hybrid ROMs we have seen that work on both the EVO and the INC. (FrankenRom I believe is one of them) They have two different screens etc. So it could be a cross compatibility thing with another phone. Who knows at this point, and really, with the options out there who cares. Root and be happy.

As far as trusting blogs goes, I don't. Hence the reason I don't really read them. Whatever rumor intrigues me I see pop up into the forums I go read about. For instance the 5 millionth rumored release date of Froyo. Laughable. As the old saying goes, take what you hear with a grain of salt. And please don't think you are the only one with friends in the right place. And everything those friends tell you may not be correct.
