He was meaning that the OTA may have fixed the routine that was used to acquire temp root.

If you want to try to fix it, follow all the instructions for temp route as if you had never done it before. This means checking every setting even if you're sure they're done.

Looks like I'm going to wait to mess with the update until a new root method is found or just install an updated ROM...

I can't do anything if the computer won't recognize the phone. I've fried this on bot my computers and I can't get them to sync with each other. So I'm at a loss on what I need to do in order to make this happen.

Tried to run this tonight after the OTA and can't get it to work. Followed all the steps in the OP, and keep getting a "Failed to copy" on the files\busybox and files\su. Says "Read-only file system" which I assume ties in to the comment above re: the OTA possibly closing the hole to acquire temp root. Totally sucks as I wanted to get this pushed through tonight so I could be bloat-free. Stupid OTA...

I tried using the CleanTOOL and when my phone reboots, all of the crapware is still there. I'm not sure what I did wrong lol. I turned off fast boot also. I used the script to reboot the phone. Is there a step I'm missing somewhere?

The method that was used to root is now no longer working since the OTA. Scrosler will need to work on a different rooting method for this to work after you run the OTA.

Im waiting and looking into scrosler's other ROMS to see if I can find one that works for me.

Hey Scott,

Will you be working on a new version of clean tool that will work on our phones after we got the updates? That sure was easier for me than spending hrs trying to unlock my phone thru htcdev with no success

Someone needs to find a new temp root exploit. That's not working out so well because we have full root and most of the devs aren't going to put the time in to find a temp root exploit when we can fully root. If it comes up I'm sure Scott will integrate it into the CleanTool.

There are no viruses in CleanTool. However most won't be able to use it anymore anyway. CleanTool has been "obsolete" after the Gingerbread OTA a month or two ago.

That's a false positive. But, uhh, CleanTool doesn't work anymore thanks to the OTA.
