Totally disappointed with display and camera.

This display is second to none!

Will the Pixel 3 camera produce better pictures than my iPhone 7+? I think my 7+ takes great pictures overall, except portrait mode still seems beta-ish on the hardware. Based on all the debating and comparing, I expect it to be a much better camera than what ive got now (esp in low light) and if that's the case then great news for me

Yes... The technology has vastly changed. The 7 does take great pictures in most normal situations.

FYI you can greatly improved the Pixel 3 pinkish display on white backgrounds by selecting boosted in the display settings. Boosted on the Pixel 3 is equivalent to the 3 XL adaptive setting. Big improvement there. Unfortunate the bad audio on recorded videos is actually by design. As Google decided to favor the spoken word during recordings.

I can tell you that my Pixel 2 camera is noticably better in every condition than my wife's iPhone 8. Daylight, low light especially, indoors with lamps in the background my pixel 2 doesn't blow it out and minimizes reflections. I love my camera, the phone I could take or leave but I'm here for the camera because it's that good.

The more and more I hear the more I'm thinking I want nothing to do with the 3 and it's display. How does Google F**k something up every year? There's a reason people just go get the latest Galaxy S or Note, Samsung doesn't screw it up.

You know what though, I'm kind of not thrilled with monthly updates as it seems every couple months something gets broken. If I got quarterly security updates and didn't get gimmicky new navigation shoved down my throat I think I'd be ok with that. I used to think I needed monthly updates but now I'm not so sure.

If I got quarterly security updates and didn't get gimmicky new navigation shoved down my throat I think I'd be ok with that. I used to think I needed monthly updates but now I'm not so sure.

It's a double edge sword. The Samsung Note people have been waiting for a camera fix for awhile now.. so they have a bug and it's taking forever to fix.

If you get a bug on the Pixel chances are they'll fix it way faster.

Yeah that's just the thing. I'm really trying to search my soul for what I really want. I've been on both sides and I'll admit the need/geek in me loves that monthly update on my pixel 2. But there's things I miss and want that the other guys have be it hardware and/or software features. Thing I want most right now is a big screen but I just can't do that notch on the 3XL.

I still have my 7 plus and did a bunch of comparisons with the P2 XL and to me the P2 XL took more detailed photos. That said, I find the P3 XL shoots better picture than the P2 XL so it should be better than the 7 plus.
