Touch screen parts aren't sensitive to touch after the last software update

So, I updated my phone today and after the update was complete I noticed that parts of my touch screen are just not responsive to the touch of my fingers. The weirdest thing is that I CAN open icons on my home screen, but it will not react when I try to delete the picture in the gallery although the 'delete' option falls on the same exact area where those icons that I could open, are sitting. Also when I was playing Candy Crush, in the same area it wouldn't allow me to move the candy. But I could operate in that same spot from apps (like Facebook or Instagram) which made me think that it may have been the update, and not my screen itself. Has anyone had the same problem? To say that it is frustrating is big understatement...

Can you see anything "floating" on that area? Like a chat head or something? Past updates of Facebook and Facebook messenger have had bugs where that would happen if you enabled chat heads. Try that. Also try booting up into SafeMode. Does it happen there? If not, it's definitely a 3rd party app that's causing the conflict

Thanks guys.
SpookDroid: Nope, no floating objects LOL I will try booting in the safe mode, but I don't have much hope, to tell you the truth. For the most part, there's usually nothing that a reboot wouldn't take care of and this one stayed the same after I restarted the phone... 😞
Tim 1954, I never did any cache wipe after a software updatr before; this is the first time I'm encountering a crap issue like that... 😞
