So, just heard about the Note 9 and was intrigued by it. I had an LG V20 last year, but Verizon upgraded me to the S8 for free (continue to pay off the V20) and so I started to use that. Then, someone dropped their mug onto my s8 screen and shattered it and the digitizer broke. So, I upgraded to the Note 8 and still have the S8. I have about $448 left to pay off on my Note 8 still, had a promotion that gave me $300, so I put it onto the phone to partially pay it off. I could repair my S8 for $200 and trade it in for a Note 9 to get $400 off, and then sell the Note 9 for however much and make that profit. Or, I could trade the S8 in for a Note 9 and keep it, but then I would have to pay off my Note 8. So, I could sell my Note 8 for like $500, with the case and accessories, and that way I would only have to pay whatever is left on the Note 9. Any idea how much the Note 9 is going to cost? Is the Note 9 going to be much of an upgrade over the Note 8? Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Probably will be upwards of $980-1000. Note 8 was a little over $900 I believe. Note 8 is a great phone. I'd suggest maybe hold onto it a little while longer to take advantage of a special perhaps on the Note 8. Best Buy and other retailers offer deals sometimes, though Verizon does as well with trade in promos, etc.

Ok, thanks! My idea now I think is to trade the S8 in, and sell the Note 9 for some money, and put that money down on my Note 8 to pay it off sooner. That way, I'll have a new phone by August of 2019 by the latest, depends on if I want the S10's or to wait for the Galaxy X or whatever comes next.

I might also end up keeping the pre-order bonuses if they're good as well, like the Galaxy Watch (unlikely) or the Wireless charger. We'll see....

Or sell the pre-order bonuses for some extra cash. I have a friend who does that with Jump On Demand. Sells the goodies to finance his JOD hobby.

I signed up for the Samsung pre-order/trade-in and they are supposed to follow up with me via email. Nothing so far.
