Trade in Values for S23 Ultra

It couldn't verify my tmobile either. But I went to the tmobile site, and they were offering only 500 for my N20U because I have the 128 gb. I think. Someone else has a higher memory and received more.
I decided to wait.
When I got my N20U, I waited, and tmobile had a great deal.

Thanks for the explanation. So the phone isn't actually $861.99, it's the subtotal it shows on the receipt $1,683.79. That's what it would cost someone outright I assume?
$1600 for S23 outright? That doesn't sound right.

I don't remember trade ins being that great at launch for the s22 ultra, I'll wait a couple months again. Hopefully they will jump up close to the 950 I got last year for my note 20 ultra. Not holding my breath though. 500 trade in is embarrassing

Yeah I am waiting too I guess!

Tradeins toward the s22 ultra were much better. I remember because I was one of the forum members last year who had their note 20 ultra trade in stolen by fedex and Samsung was trying to charge me $600 for it. I also remember the s21 ultra had a trade in value of $700 or $800 and Samsung gave the option as well to trade in more than one device. None of that applies this time with the s23 ultra for some reason. Samsung is really being stingy this time around. And for those who were wondering I got out of Samsung trying to charge me for my stolen trade in by reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I called them and argued, reasoned, and pleaded with representatives multiple times and they did nothing until I stopped being mr nice guy.

That is the subtotal, it's not making sense to me where that number came from. I thought with my 800 trade in it would cover most of the cost of the phone.

The price of the ultra should be 1199 for the 256 but you get the 512 upgrade. So with tax it shouldn't be 1600. I think our price when I went to Samsung it said 699 and that's only with the 500 trade in. I just really didn't want unlocked. I'm tempted to buy a Verizon one out right and sell mine even for 6 or 700 with my cases which is still better than the 500 and cheaper than what others are selling theirs for and maybe I'll have a better chance of selling it.

Right and this isn't even the Ultra, I got the base S23 with the free 256GB upgrade. I think something is wrong there. I don't think I should be paying $22.22 per month like it says.

When the trade in goes thru and gets approved you will get monthly bill credits for that amount which will cancel the charge out.

It can take 2 to 3 bill cycles for the trade in to process. If it takes 3 months they will credit you the 3 months you had to pay waiting for the approval.

considering trading in my ZFold 4. This was my first go round with the fold series, and I'm not convinced it was better for me vs the Note/SUltra line. I missed the convenience of the pen and haven't taken advantage of the larger inner display enough. I often feel like I have a smaller device with the small outer screen. I get $750 credit for it with Samsung unlocked or $1000 credit with T-Mobile. just deciding on graphite (my preferred color but only unlocked ) and T-Mobile black for the better value

Edit: I also have $150 Samsung credit for extras if I go unlocked. Thinking I can get the buds2 pro for basically nothing and then list it on eBay to get maximal value. Could end up only shelling out~$300 for unlocked 512GB

When I traded my Z Fold 3 in (I am on T-Mobile), the Promotion is $1000 for trade. The way it works with them was to give me $161 instant credit and apply the remaining $839 to my bill in 24 months.

The S23 Ultra would have been $50/mo on their finance program, but the credit applied knocks that down to $15.04/mo with 0% interest. That makes the finances cost $360.96. The only out of pocket I had to pay was the Sales Tax at $118.36.

Not bad getting it on the promotion.
Can't believe the instant value for a fold 3 was only 161 yikes.

Yes totally down this year. Normally I get tempted to trade in every year because the trade-in offers are so good, but not tempted at all this year.
Dont blame you

I agree completely. I have no need to upgrade but I usually do every year simply because the trade-in value is so high and, admittedly, I like a shiny new toy as much as the next guy. But when I saw the trade-in value this year it was an easy pass. Perhaps this will be the new normal. And that's fine with me if that's the case. At least for my use case the yearly flagship upgrades bring only very subtle improvements. I think I can be happy with what I have (Pixel 7 Pro and Z Flip 4) for 2 or 3 years. Both are excellent and problem free.

Went ahead and did it. Think I'll wait till Samsung integrates the SPen into the body of the Fold before going down that road again. Hoping to flip those buds on eBay to make it a better deal too
