What are your guys thoughts? What's the modding community like for each? (I know an update locked the bootloader agin for the DNA)
How is the everyday performance like?
How are the signal strength like on the note 2?

Signal strength is pretty much relative depending on where you are located. Whatever you're getting on your iPhone now (as long as you aren't switching carriers) should be comparable to what you'll get on most other recent devices (unless you end up with a Motorola phone, which might give you a bit stronger signal.)

Speed is also not much of anything to argue about between these two devices, they are both powerhouse phones and will serve you well for the life of a contract.

I'd say your best bet is to go in store, play with both, and see which one you think feels better.

Now, something that shouldn't matter is my personal opinion, but you asked, so here it is: Go for the DNA. You won't have to adapt to the screen much as it's comparable to your iPhone 5. The Note, while an impressive device with a screen size that is just fantastically huge, it's still that same flimsy feeling Samsung plastic and I am not a fan.

I wouldn't mod a note. It is a solid device, nothing flimsy or creaky about it. I would grab a nexus for modding. I am a original droid modder and have done most of my phones custom. I guess the software has gotten good enough for me to be content. I am a battery life guy, and the note just kills the dna in that regard. I also agree with Chris that plastic is cheep. But usually more durable than aluminum, less conducive to heat, and in most cases, much stronger than aluminum. But the material is cheep. The galaxy s3 has more of a plastic feel. The note is just so heavy and brick like, I don't really get that "cheep" feeling.

Have you considered the Nexus 4 or LG Optimus G pro? Both you know, actually feel good in the hand.

Bump! Anyone else have a take On this. Leaning towards the note but DNA seems to have more graphics power. Want mores opinions plz

I have the DNA and my husband has the note 2. In my opinion, they are comparable in speed, but note has better battery and DNA has a better screen. The note 2 has expandable memory, but it doesn't have inductive charging and touchwiz is atrocious. Also, the note 2 feels too large to use as an everyday phone as it doesn't fit in my jeans, doesn't fit in the cupholder in the car, and feels huge on the side of my face. The construction is also noticably less premium than the DNA. If you're a gamer, a 5.5" screen would be awesome, but the 1080p of the DNA offers an even greater experience. If you work in an office, the note has great multitasking capabilities and the spen. But for an everyday average user who wants a fast phone and an awesome screen, the dna is a great piece of phone hardware and software wise.

Yea I really like both. I just walked out of a Verizon store after using both and it's still a toss up. A great screen or a great battery... Hard to decide. I'm a hardcore pc gamer but I really don't like much on the phones. Plants vs zombies is addictive though. TW is bad but ill likely use other apps.

I have a note 2 It is big at first, takes about a week to get accustomed to the size, after that week it will feel like the best phone you've ever used simply because all other phones will feel like little toys in your hands compared to the note. Specs wise the DNA looks solid but i haven't used one so i cant give you a comparison.

Oh yea and overpriced mobile service

Haha I'm paying only a lil over 100 for unlimited lte and excellent voice quality so I'm happy wit sprint. Besides the gsm carriers here can't penetrate a plastic bag.

Sprint and Verizon would beg to differ. And plus how is CDMA dying???? Its 4 carriers 2 of each. So where is the death.

Yea I still have my unlimited data with Verizon also and I really don't use much. Lowest i ever use was line 88mb most was with the nexus at 1.4 gb but I believe I dled several roms that month. I almos always never go over 700 mb.

Yea note does seem great. I used to carry my phones in my pocket and i still do if I wear my sweats out lmfao. What gpu is in this thing? I thought ezynos was suppose to be top of the line gpu performance?

CDMA is dying. In 10 years there won't be much CDMA left. LTE is growing. US has more CDMA phones then anyone else I believe.
