It didn't work for me. I got a new Samsung S20 and used Smartswitch app on the old LG v30 and it didn't take any saved network passwords over!!
None of the phones are rooted and so I can't even access the file containing the details (SSID and Password)
Definitely and settings, Bluetooth devicesI'm not sure if Smart Switch transfers wi-fi passwords -- they don't mention it here: www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00047089/. @mustang7757, can you shed any light on this?
Google's own backup feature should save and restore wi-fi passwords, but this might depend on the Android version the older phone was on -- I think Android 9 is required for some of the functionality. I see that the V30's highest Android version was 9.0, but it's possible not all V30 variants got that high. What version was yours on?

Yeah it should , we not talking about like s4 or something? Thanks -- but do you know if it will reliably backup wi-fi passwords from an older non-Samsung phone?

Smart switch back up /Samsung cloud only for Samsung devices to transfer those back up.from Samsung cloud or smart switch , when using smart switch app to transfer from non Samsung it's limited like message , calls ect..Wait, so can you clarify -- it should backup wi-fi passwords from an older LG phone, or it won't? You said "no" re: Samsung and LG.
If you have lots it will like over 1000(chats)My old LG v30 is running Android v9 and the S20 is v12.
Maybe I should have used Google backup/restore rather than Samsung's proprietary software.
Too late now as I have been through the tough task of adding Google Pay/Wallet debit cards to the new device (they didn't transfer over either) and spending hours on the phone to banks.
Also backup and restore of chat apps took hours to complete.
