Transparent status bar

I updated my kernel last night and now I have a transparent status bar. I hate it and want the black one back. Please help, I don't want to use nova etc.

If it's the official Samsung ROM, I don't believe you can If you're rooted, you could modify the necessary code (I don't know exactly how, but I know that it is possible) or you could install a custom ROM with a solid notification bar. Or, like you said, change launchers.

I wouldn't know where to start rooting. I use to jailbreak my iPhone but I've only been a Samsung woman since November lol

I think it's terrible they don't give you the option of black or transparent. Not everyone prefers it.
