Why don't you use Wugfresh and his Toolkit to install the drivers and then take it back to stock. Seems like a driver issue and that can be handled :).

Re: Tried updating to Jelly Bean -- Stuck on Google screen / Boot

I have this problem as well. I will go into as much detail as possible and you can see what you think. I downloaded the 4.1.1 BB ROM. I put it onto my sd card of my Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I restarted in CWM Recovery. I wiped data/cache, wiped cache again, wiped dalvik cache, installed ROM, went to mount/stoage and formatted system, and fixed permissions. I rebooted system. It cam up just fine. Since this has happened every time on every JB ROM I have tried I decided to turn off the phone and restart. To my surprise, it booted up just fine. I downloaded all my apps and then made a back up in CWM. Later I logged into everything and set up all my apps they way I wanted them and made another back up and rebooted again from CWM and again...success. I mae a phone call, sent a couple texts and then as the final test, as in nights previous, I turned off the phone and left it off for about 5 minutes. I turned the phone back on and hung at Google. I had to do a battery pull znd start in CWM. I tried wiping the cache again and the Dalvik cache. I reformatted the system again and fixed permissions. I also went ahead and installed the Jelly Bean bootloader. Still, no success and hung at Google. I tried restoring my JB backup and also my ICS backups and there were ERRORS AT DATA and data failed to restore therefore all nandroid backups failed. In order to get my phone working again I had to use the Toro 4.0.4 Unroot ISO. Now I have to set up my phone again for the 5th time in 3 days. Thoughts?

Re: Tried updating to Jelly Bean -- Stuck on Google screen / Boot

no thoughts on cause... Ive had it softbrick 3 times... on vicious jb, ver 1 & 3 as well as bugless beast. There's a longer thread on xda, but no one knows what's been causing it...

How long are you letting it sit at the Google screen? I've had it sit there for around 5 minutes before finally booting up. Don't be too quick to do a battery pull.

This. Let it sit for AT LEAST 10 minutes. If it boot loops or lasts an extremely long time, then you're in trouble.

Re: Tried updating to Jelly Bean -- Stuck on Google screen / Boot

After a month of calm sailing on CM9 I saw the CM team started doing CM10 nightlies. Figured I would try JB again.. lasted a day and a half then got stuck on the Google screen at boot and stayed for 15 minutes. Couldn't restore backups, had to do a complete factory restore... like earlier when I posted the same results with different Vicious Roms and Bugless Beast. Been scouring the webs, but can't find anything helpful. I friend's GNex has been running JB since the Roms first started coming out, no problem. Any other thoughts?

If it were me... I would do a factory image restore, to fully clean out your phone's filesystem, sd included. You can back up all your apps with TiBu beforehand (check my guide), and copy the /sdcard/TitaniumBackup folder to your comptuer along with anything else you don't want erased (pics, music, etc..). Then do the full image restore following the sticky guide. Boot up once and just copy over a known stable JB ROM to your phone, such as AOKP's official JB build 1, Bugless Beast, or Euroskank's CM10 kang (the official CM10 nightlies are still having issues, afaik). Then boot to the bootloader, fastboot into recovery (and I say use TWRP instead of CWM for that), flash the ROM and gapps if needed -- bugless includes them but the others don't, obv -- and you should be good. Once booted up you can copy back your TiBu folder and whatever else you backed up. Make sure if you are using TiBu that you DO NOT restore any system data to your fresh JB install.

Sometimes the phone's filesystem and sd card can just contain some weird or corrupted data and I think this can be more of a problem moving from ICS to JB since some directories, such as the sdcard, have been renamed/relocated in JB. Might sound like a long process but it isn't very hard, just might take some time. I've done it a few times between my phone and Nexus 7 when things were giving me issues and its given me great results.. your phone likes a good spring cleaning once in a while. :)

Re: Tried updating to Jelly Bean -- Stuck on Google screen / Boot

Appreciate the response, but with the exception of using CWM for recovery I've done the full factory back to stock wipe each time. As a matter of fact, earlier today I just found a post where someone was wondering if CWM Touch could have been the culprit... so I installed non Touch CWM, then tried the newest CM10 nightly. Fastest JB Rom I've installed yet, only bug I noticed was the auto brightness wasn't working. Installed a ton of apps and data but then on the first reboot it happened again... so I'm in the process of a complete factory restore, root, CWM, ICS... the usual drill.
